This is pretty damn awesome. I think one of the coolest parts of the film-making process is when actors improvise because they feel something authentic and genuine might work better for a scene than what’s written in the script, or something unexpected happens that causes the scene to veer from what’s on the page; but then ends up being even better than what was originally intended because the actors were into their characters, into the story and movie magic was the result. That’s why I absolutely adore this video created by YouTube user mewlist, who has put together the 25 Greatest Unscripted Scenes in Films. Check it out after the break.

Matt and I saw Transformers: Dark of the Moon a couple days ago. His full review will be up here tomorrow. For my quick thoughts on the film, it was definitely better than ROTF, but had some nagging elements that are present in all of Bay’s films, which can become tiresome. One being length; TF3 is over two and a half hours. Another being the non-stop action, explosions, car chases, etc., which has made Bay the filmmaker that he is, but doesn’t mean that it isn’t super exhausting to endure a 45-minute battle scene. In echoing this sentiment towards Bay’s staples as a filmmaker, I came across this very funny College Humor video on Twitter titled, Every Michael Bay Movie In Under A Minute – which is pretty much just how it sounds.

Back in March I posted a fantastic Christopher Nolan tribute video titled Nolanography, in which a YouTuber edited together his favorite scenes from Nolan’s films into an epic three-minutes of awesomeness. Well, people keep posting them on YouTube, so I’m gonna keep posting them here. I stumbled across this in the Nolan Fans forums today, and I have to say, it’s even better than Nolanography. The tribute video is titled The Movies of Christopher Nolan, by YouTuber ivanovstas. I know, I know. “We get it, Barrett. You’re obsessed with Christopher Nolan.” This is true. But more than that, it’s about appreciating the fantastic work of fans appreciating the fantastic work of the filmmakers they love and admire. Check it out after the break.

This video has been circling the web for a little while now and I just haven’t gotten around to posting it, but I am now. I don’t think it at all needs to be restated (but I will since I love saying it): Christopher Nolan is my favorite filmmaker of all time. He’s my idol. My cinematic god that I worship unconditionally. And after a flawless, decade-long streak of crafting some of the most thrilling and memorable films of the last 30 years, millions of people around the world feel the same way. That’s why I’m so glad YouTuber djcprod edited together this fantastic tribute video, compiling clips from all of Nolan’s films (except Following), titled Nolanography. With stunning and seamless grace, you’ll see a montage of all your favorite moments from Memento, Insomnia, Batman Begins, The Prestige, The Dark Knight, and of course, Inception. Check it out after the break.

If you want to watch Andrew Garfield (but really not because this webslinger is obviously a stuntman) jumping around as Spider-Man on the streets of Los Angeles follow THIS link. TMZ has the scoop catching the production an acrobatic action scene. Watching this part being filmed is really intriguing; I always find it fascinating how the filmmakers will piece this little tidbit of staged action into a whole to create something that feels real. Watch how the trucks back up to film the scene again. Alone it just feels strange; but pieced together through the wonder of film we will hopefully get something a little more organic in the end. Simply put, I love film production. After the jump you can also see the first footage on the set from Sherlock Holmes 2.

I came across the short film called, Pandemic 41.410806, -75.54259 upon its release to YouTube January 12th. The film is about a brother and sister named Tyler and Bree. The YouTube description explains that Bree and Tyler’s parents have developed strange nocturnal behaviors. The children appear threatened by their mother at night but are confident about being around “her” during the day. Interesting? Hit the jump to check out the video.

Behold, the Movie Mash brings you the first piece of original entertainment from the site. For a final project in one of my multimedia classes I decided to take a creative angle for the assignment. Everyone else in the class was fulfilling the requirements for the project by doing a hard news story. Even though this class was grounded in honing our abilities to work in Electronic News Reporting (it was a requirement),  I personally have no interest in hard news or broadcast news. So in an effort to let my creativity shine, I pitched the idea of an infomercial parody to my teacher instead of a news story and he surprisingly gave me the green light. Hit the jump to check it out.

This video was brought to my attention by one of our readers (thank you Dave) and I think it is a must see for anyone who considers themselves a DC Comics fan. I am not going to waste a bunch of time with introductions or background on the superheroes connected with DC; my goal here is to get you to hit the jump and check out the video game trailer for DC Universe Online. Even if you don’t like video games, the trailer is like an extended cut of a movie trailer. If it were a movie, it would be one that I would be in line at a midnight showing to see. Hit the jump to check out the DC Universe Online trailer.

The progress of Green Lantern has been kept under the radar throughout the film’s production. We have barely got a glimpse at Green Lantern himself besides a magazine layout in Entertainment Weekly. Word is the first trailer for Green Lantern will be attached to Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows next week. To give fans a brief look at the superhero before November 19th, Entertainment Tonight has a sneak peek at the first video of Ryan Reynolds transforming into Green Lantern and using the power ring. Hit the jump to see the first look of Green Lantern in action.

Wow Potter fans, Warner Bros. has upped the ante with the two most recent Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows featurettes. I am serious, these two snippets are ridiculous-good. All the previous video promotions for the movie caused me to be a little skeptical and critical of their content. But these two featurettes are by far the best yet and seriously have me bouncing in my seat with anticipation. Call me a huge nerd, I don’t care. I seriously just became elated with the promise of Part 1 of the Deathly Hallows being epic, which now is less than two weeks away for me (I get to see the film on Monday the 15th, I know, be jealous). The videos are placed after the jump; anyone who considers themselves a Potter fan needs to check them out.
