If you love movies in any fashion, you are likely aware that there is a huge transition going on in hollywood. Film production is literally dying and digital cinema is taking its place. Some filmmakers are thrilled, while others are frustrated. Actor Keanu Reeves has a new documentary called Side by Side that highlights this great divide and the trailer ensures it is a must-see.

If anyone knows Wes Anderson, watch this trailer for five seconds and you can already tell it is one of his films. The look and feel of his films has a very distinct taste to them. Hit the jump to enjoy the trailer for Moonrise Kingdom, which features many of Anderson’s usual cast of characters like Bill Murray and Jason Schwartzman, but also new faces like Bruce Willis and Edward Norton.
With the roll that Christian Bale is on, it’s only fitting to see him again acting as a protector — this time he tries to shield Chinese women from the rape, murder, and destruction brought by the invading forces of the Japanese in World War II. The film is The Flowers of War, and the story is set in the city Naking, China, the site for one of the world’s untold atrocities. The city played host to the massacre, rape, and destruction of thousands of Chinese lives. This World War II massacre is far less known than the Nazis Final Solution for the Jews. While the Japanese did not enact a plan to exterminate all the Chinese in an industrial fashion, the twisted and sickening things to take place at Nanking could make any stomach turn. Very few people within the city walls were able to act as a refuge to the persecuted Chinese people, but The Flowers of War has Christian Bale fighting back to stop the Japanese from preying upon the people within the church. You Have My Permission To Watch ‘The Dark Knight Rises’ Trailer [UPDATED]

Fanboys have been drying off their sweaty palms all morning in anticipation for first full The Dark Knight Rises trailer. A teaser released on July 18th gave us only a slight glimpse of the third installment of Christopher Nolan’s beloved Batman trilogy. The new trailer gives a solid look at how Gotham has held up over the last eight years and where it might be headed.
The trailer gives us plenty of contemplate and even more to salivate over. The gut reaction when it’s over is one of relief and anticipation, but also disappointment that it is still seven months away. Nolan and Warner Bros. are following the same structure as The Dark Knight when it comes to releasing promotional material and a recently launched viral campaign. With the prologue currently showing in front of select IMAX screenings of Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol, we can expect this trailer will be the last look at this movie for a while. The prologue will most likely not be released online as it would defeat the purpose of showing it in true IMAX theaters only.
Jason Reitman and Diablo Cody Team Up Again — Check Out the ‘Young Adult’ Trailer

Previously, the a fore mentioned team paired up for the Award winning Juno. Since the Ellen Page hit in 2007, Reitman moved on to Up in the Air which garnered Oscar attention, and Cody moved on to Jennifer’s Body, which garnered Razzie attention. Personally, I didn’t hate Jennifer’s Body and thought it was worth a view. However, the weakest aspect of the Megan Fox flick was Cody’s written dialogue and storytelling. In summation, I don’t really like Cody as a screenwriter. But the real reason I am composing this post is because I am going to see Young Adult later tonight, and I wanted to make the Movie Mash readers aware of the film as a review will be posted next week sometime.
‘The Hunger Games’ Looks Awesome, and You Need To See This Trailer For Yourself

I don’t know much about The Hunger Games, but this initial trailer has my attention. Fellow Movie Masher Sarah Williams has long told me about the glory living in the pages of the books, but I’ve never had time to sit down and catch up. I am really excited to watch this story come to life on the big screen. The story follows 24 teens fighting it out to the death for sporting entertainment in a post-apocalyptic world. Don’t miss this trailer, it is definitely a must see.
‘Brave’ Looks Sharp and Like Another Possible Pixar Gem

Pixar released the first trailer for their highly anticipated film Brave. Not only are the visuals realistic looking and crisp, but the premise of the movie seems interesting enough. It almost has the Hunger Games element of competition feel to it minus the fights to the death. Pixar could use a strong rebound after their first flawed failure Cars 2 smeared their perfect resume. The ‘American Reunion’ Trailer is Full of Washed Up Actors

Yes, they are making another American Pie, this time entitled American Reunion. Why wouldn’t they? The studio knows the can siphon more money from consumers with an already established market of people who have seen all the previous films. Plus, most of the cast can be hired dirt cheap because none of them outside of Seann William Scott and Alyson Hannigan currently have an actual acting career. Who would have thought the high from the original films would have been so brief for this cast? From the title I am sure most of you can assume the film is about the group getting back together for their ten year reunion. Despite aging, they all seem to be the same morons they were in high school.
