Would ‘Star Wars’ Have Been Better With a Black C-3PO?
Posted by: | CommentsThe question posed above might not be serious, but the video after the jump has your answer. Star Wars might not have worked with a black guy voicing C-3PO, but it would have been a whole lot funnier — that is clearly shown after watching the ghetto droid talk back to Uncle Owen. Must Watch: ‘Star Wars’ vs. Cancer and ‘Insane Office Escape’
Posted by: | CommentsTo keep the readers entertained over the weekend, I thought I would pass along some cool videos I encountered while trolling Twitter. The first is a fun Star Wars short where stars like Emma Stone, Ken Jeong, Seth Rogen, and Aziz Ansari reenact our favorite scenes from a galaxy far, far away to raise cancer awareness. The second video should make any FPS — first person shooter — fan feel at home. Imagine watching a Jason Bourne-like figure destroying the suited opposition to escape an office with a high value confidential object. Seriously, hit the jump and watch these videos.
Found Online: Hilarious Film Critique Via Meme
Posted by: | CommentsI love the Internet. Sarah talked earlier about how she loves to watch short webisodes online, and I’m here to admit I have a tendency to spend hours browsing sites like 9gag.com and comixed checking out all the different creative pictures that are constantly surfacing on their home pages. Whether the creators are commenting on films, television, politics, or just life in general, you don’t have to go far to find a picture that will make you smile. ‘Star Wars Episode III’ Ripped Apart
Posted by: | CommentsIn the past, I have posted links to Red Letter Media’s breakdowns of the Star Wars prequels. The glaring failures in the films pointed out in these videos are absolutely invigorating. Granted, the crazy character bringing forth the analysis in these videos is more than just a little crazy, but his breakdown of the three prequels is spot on. The reviews break down all the flaws in the newest Star Wars films and why they don’t even begin to compare to the originals. Even if you think you loved or liked the prequels, after seeing these videos, I guarantee your perception will be altered. Hit the jump to check out the breakdown of Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith.
Star Wars in Glorious Blu-ray Announced for Fall 2011, Deleted ROTJ Scene Unveiled
Posted by: | CommentsDid you feel that? It kind of felt like the ground shook a little. It couldn’t be an earthquake though, becuase I’m in Minneapolis. Oh, I know what it is, it’s a worldwide collective nerdgasm, the likes of which could cause a devastating apocalyptic natural disaster ala The Day After Tomorrow. Not that there’s anything wrong with that. At Star Wars Celebration V over the weekend in Orlando, FL, George Lucas made THE announcement, that the complete Star Wars Saga would be hitting Blu-ray shelves in the fall of 2011. To this point there have been countless re-releases of the Star Wars films, featuring various added scenes, digital re-mastery, etc. But this will be the first time fans will be able to watch the legendary film series in beautiful, crisp, high-definition.
‘Darth Schwarzenegger’
Posted by: | CommentsThis had me ROTFL. It’s just the beauty of editing and the internet, coming together to make a hilarious movie parody for everyone to piss their pants over. A Slashfilm reader created this video and shared it with the website staff, who then posted it because of it’s genius editing and awesomeness. I’ve watched it like three times in a row, now. It’s that good. The synopsis of the video goes something like this:
An earlier casting of Star Wars IV: A New Hope saw Arnold Schwarzenegger put a juvenile, jealous and rather perverted spin on Darth Vader’s explosive personality. George Lucas had second thoughts and cast James Earl Jones instead. Enjoy these exclusive clips from the “lost tapes” archives of Skywalker Ranch.
Rant: Star Wars, George Lucas and 3-D
Posted by: | CommentsBrowsing the internet a few weeks back I stumbled upon some very interesting Star Wars news. The first bit of reading involved George Lucas’s comments following his screening of Avatar. Lucas was impressed with the magnitude of what James Cameron was able to accomplish with the project and the integration of the third dimension (via Access Hollywood):
I’m happy it’s so successful, and worked very well in 3-D, haven’t been a big fan of 3-D, but that movie definitely improves in (the field of) 3-D. We’ve been looking for years and years and years of trying to take ‘Star Wars’ and put it in 3-D. But, [the] technology hasn’t been there. We’ve been struggling with it, but I think this will be a new impetus to make that happen.
