I recently saw Scott Pilgrim vs. The World for the second time and thought it was just as good as the first. My favorite thing the second time around had to be the catchy soundtrack filling my ears again. That is what I like to consider an easy iTunes sale. Anyway, I came across this hilarious video on Slashfilm last night and thought to share it with Movie Mash readers. The video is entitled Scott Pilgrim vs. The Matrix, and it was very cleverly edited by AEMOVIEGUY. The video is hilarious as the talented editor overlays the audio from the Pilgrim trailer on top of footage from The Matrix Trilogy. The use of the comic book elements with The Matrix video made me laugh quite a bit as Keanu Reeves’ character Neo assumes the role of Michael Cera’s Scott Pilgrim.

GRADE: B+
This is a movie probably unlike any other you have seen in your lifetime. It is a combination of many forms of entertainment in our culture, seamlessly combining film, music, video games, and comic book elements. This was my second most anticipated late summer movie (after Inception), and it measured up to all my expectations. Not expecting a high dose of comedy, I was surprised to laugh as much as I did throughout this movie. Many of the laughs weren’t blatant like the Will Ferrell brand, but a quieter and less dramatic form of comedy. This contribution to the overall product was something that I thought boosted this film’s already high value.
I absolutely adore this kind of parody. Thinking of ridiculous movie sequels and premises is not far from my mind on a daily basis, so these fake movie posters as apart of Scott Pilgrim vs The World‘s marketing put a big grin on my face today. Empire has the exclusive look (via Collider), featuring five posters from Chris Evan’s character, Lucas Lee’s, ecclectic career as a movie star. Lee is the second of Ramona’s (Mary Elizabeth Winstead) ”seven evil exes” that Michael Cera’s Scott Pilgrim has to defeat in order to win her heart. Check out the posters after the break.
Awesome First Teaser Trailer for Scott Pilgrim vs. The World

Universal has just released the first teaser trailer for Scott Pilgrim vs. The World, and…it’s pretty friggin sweet. The film is directed by the fantastic British filmmaker Edgar Wright, of cult classics Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz previously. The screenplay was written by Edgar Wright and actor Michael Bacall and is based on the comic book series of the same name, created by Bryan Lee O’Malley.
