Mel Gibson to Appear in ‘The Hangover 2’?
Posted by: | CommentsPretty sweet picture, huh? Anyway, in the midst of his personal meltdown, that I surely don’t need to re-cap, Mel Gibson is still getting some work that could possibly be the first step in his professional recovery. The New York Post’s Page Six is reporting (via E!) that Gibson has inked a deal to appear in the sequel to The Hangover, currently titled The Hangover 2, as a Bangkok tattoo artist; Bangkok, Thailand is the setting for the film. I don’t know about you, but regardless of his psychotic, misogynistic, racist behavior, I’m totally on board with this.
‘Zoolander 2’ Not Dead After All
Posted by: | CommentsWay back in May of last year we reported Ben Stiller’s comments on Zoolander 2, to which the actor said he’d been working on the script for on and off over the past decade, and that he was trying his darnedest to get it made. Flash forward a year later and it seemed as though Paramount had passed on Zoolander 2, as well as a sequel to Anchorman because of budget constraints. Now, there appears to light at the end of the tunnel due to a recent tweet from Stiller in response to the question “Is Zoolander 2 still happening?” He replied:
Yes. Working on it now with my buddy Justin.
Did Emma Watson Chop Off Her Hair to Play ‘The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo’?
Posted by: | CommentsProbably not. But when she posted a picture on her website a few days ago showing off her recently super short new hairdo, the gossip rags went k-a-raazy speculating that she did so because she intended to audition for David Fincher’s American remake of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo; which is of course based on the original Swedish film from last year, which is of course based on the worldwide book series phenomenon. More on that Dragon Tattoo after the break, but first…
Is Will Smith Ready To Battle Aliens Again With TWO Independence Day Sequels?
Posted by: | CommentsBack in October we reported that director Roland Emmerich had revealed he was in the process of getting a sequel up and running to his 1996 alien-blockbuster smash Independence Day, but ONLY if Will Smith would agree to come back. Now it appears as though Smith will not only return for one, but TWO sequels for the film that grossed over $800 million worldwide back. IESB is claiming that they’ve received a “tip” (so I would put this in the “rumor” category) that Fox and Emmerich are looking to film the two sequels back-to-back.
Casting Rumor: Sacha Baron Cohen vs. Jermaine Clement for Men in Black 3?
Posted by: | CommentsSo we now have the latest casting “development” surrounding the almost decade-long “in-the-works” Men in Black 3. But before we get to that, lets recap what’s been going on with the project in recent months. Back in October it was reported that Tropic Thunder screenwriter Etan Cohen had been officially hired by Sony to pen the script for MIB 3. That report also semi-confirmed that MIB 1 & 2 director Barry Sonnenfeld, as well as stars Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones were all “uncertain” about their participation in the project. So there’s that.
