This video has been making the interweb rounds over the past couple weeks, but it’s so awesome that I had to share it with you. It’s a fan trailer for a film called The Batman Complex. YouTuber themanbatman executes superb editing skills to craft a fake movie trailer about a man (Christian Bale) who thinks he’s Batman, caused by an idea being planted in his head; aka Inception. This severe psychological obsession leaves his mind and body on the brink of destruction.  To create this hypnotic and fascinating fan trailer, ‘themanbatman’ used various clips from Equilibrium, The Dark Knight, Batman Begins, The Machinist, Inception, The Prestige, Shutter Island and another movie I can’t quite put my finger on. Check it out after the break.

What a great day for Potter fans. The trailer for Deathly Hallows – Part 2 was released today by the good folks at Warner Bros. Let the countdown begin! Only 80 more days until we get to revel in the greatness that is HP and his last movie Deathly Hallows: Part 2. As you can imagine, I’m extremely excited, yet sad at the same time. Last time I wrote about HP, I dove into my feelings on the end of an era — this trailer only helps to solidify my sentiments. Check out the trailer after the break.

In this edition of Trailer Trash MASH we have a fun-looking stoner/loser comedy and the second trailer of an anticipated comic-book prequel. The stoner/loser comedy is Our Idiot Brother, starring Paul Rudd as a well, a stoner/loser whose idiotic shenanigans include him being arrested for selling pot to a uniformed police officer, and the affect it has on his relationship with his family members. The comic-book trailer is the second, interational trailer for X-Men: First Class, which features a slew of new images and footage from the upcoming Marvel blockbuster. Check ‘em out after the break.

Warner Bros. has been nearly silent about their upcoming DC summer blockbuster Green Lantern, starring Ryan Reyonlds, over the last several months – and rightfully so. Back in November, comic-book and movie geeks alike were up-in-arms after the first trailer dropped, which featured some noticeably awful visual effects on display. The reason for which, is because WB, director Martin Campbell & Co. were not ready to show the footage, as the complex VFX still needed a lot of work. But a the standard release of blockbuster trailers dictates, they had to show us something. Fortunately, much time has past since then, and the WB effects crew has been hard at work refining all the space-fighting action, and more importatnly, the Green Lantern suit and mask. It’s starting to look pretty damn sweet, and this new four-minute clip, shown at WonderCon over the weekend, has restored hope for the film.

When you think about the R-rated, raunchy comedy landscape, it’s pretty much dominated by male comedians, writers and actors centered around the “bro” mentality – featured in such films as Knocked Up, I Love You, Man and The Hangover; and no, Sex and the City doesn’t count. Sure, there’s usually a few memorable female stand outs who make us split our sides, but the bros are the ones driving the comedy train in Hollywood. Well, the hysterical, beautiful and utterly-talented Kristen Wiig is about to show up the bros this summer with her new film Bridesmaids, which she also wrote. It’s a comedy with an almost all female cast that will hopefully prove that there are seriously funny women in entertainment that can make successful films that aren’t necessarily the typical “romantic comedy.”

LOL. That’s what I did pretty much from beginning to end watching this movie trailer. For those of you who don’t follow the well-respected film career of 50 Cent, about a year ago he lost a scary amount of weight to play a football player who gets cancer and has to overcome adversity in the film that he actually wrote called Things Fall Apart. He even posted pictures of his skinny frame during production last year. Did I mention that he actually wrote this screenplay? Anyway, the trailer has popped up online and it is side-splitting, rolling on the floor funny. It’s just….it’s just bad. Check it out after the break.

A short, sweet, and to-the-point second trailer for Duncan Jones’ Source Code starring Jake Gyllenhaal and Michelle Monaghan has hit the web, making me very anxious to see this new mind-bending thriller. Jones of course was the man behind 2009′s phenomenal indie Sci-Fi drama with Sam Rockwell, Moon. Now he’s back with a bigger budget, a more high-profile cast and a much more challenging concept: A soldier (Jake G) wakes up in the body of an unknown man and discovers he’s part of a mission to find the bomber of a Chicago commuter train…by traveling through time, back-and-forth between the past and the present to do so. Ohhhh snap!

Continuing the new staple of R-rated raunchy romantic comedies designed to lure both guys and gals into the cineplex, comes the new red band trailer for the upcoming Bad Teacher. The film stars Cameron Diaz, Justin Timberlake and Jason Segel. Wait a minute. Timerlake and Diaz in the same movie where they play romantic chess games? Didn’t they have kind of a nasty break up in real life a few years ago? Awkward? Anyway, it looks over-the-top funny. Check out the trailer after the break.

A BIG day for Marvel fans. First comes the news (via Deadline) that Shane Black, director of Kiss Kiss Bang Bang and writer of all the Lethal Weapon movies has been tapped by Marvel execs to direct Iron Man 3. Unfortunate news that Jon Favreau won’t be returning to finish his trilogy, but apparently the director grew tired of the property and has now moved on to direct Magic Kingdom for Disney.

I know we’re a little late to the party on this one, but we had to post it anyway. So obviously you, and everyone else on Planet Earth watched the Superbowl on Sunday. And along with some clever brand commercials, there were a few TV spots for upcoming blockbusters that premiered; specifically for Captain America: The First Avenger, Thor, Super 8, Transformers: Dark of the Moon and Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides.  Some look awesome and some look “meh.” All of them are available for your viewing pleasure after the break.
