Sneak Peek at Robert Rodriguez’ Predators
Posted by: | CommentsWe reported way back in April of 2009 that blood-spatter specialist Robert Rodriguez was getting set to reboot the Predator franchise with Predators. The series dates back to 1987, of course starring Arnold Schwarzenegger. “You are one ugly mother fu**er.” Remember that classic line? Then the much less successful sequel, Predator 2, came out three years later, followed by the two Alien vs. Predator cross-over films (AVP and AVP: Requiem) in 2004 and 2007 respectively.

Posted by: | CommentsIt’s been several days since this was unveiled to the world, but I needed some time to gather my thoughts. If you saw Alice in Wonderland this past weekend, you got to see the breathtaking new trailer for Disney’s other upcoming 3-D baby, Tron Legacy. The first footage we saw of Tron Legacy was way back this past summer when Disney premiered those three minutes of footage at Comic-Con. That clip didn’t show much, but was just supposed to get people talking, which it did. But man, this new trailer has got people SCREAMING for December to hurry the hell up already.

Posted by: | CommentsIn this addition of Trailer Trash MASH we have a comedy for adults and a comedy for the entire family. The first is the unofficial sequel to Forgetting Sarah Marshall titled Get Him To The Greek. The film reunites two of the stars from Marshall, Jonah Hill and crazy British comedian Russell Brand, each reprising their former roles. This time, it’s several years later and Hill’s character is now an assistant to a mega record producer, played by none other than P. Diddy. Or is it just Diddy? Whatever.

Posted by: | CommentsThis past June movie fans were exposed to the upcoming creation from filmmaker M. Night Shyamalan. Surprisingly enough, The Last Airbender did not come across as a failure like his last three projects have conditioned us to believe. Thankfully, the concept for the film is not an original idea from him, which comes as a change from the 30-year-old director’s norm. With Shyamalan not imagining his own ending, movie goers can be hopeful that the conclusion to this movie won’t induce strong feelings of violence against the creator of such atrocities as Lady in the Water and The Happening.

Posted by: | CommentsThink Smokin’ Aces meets the Oceans movies. That’s the feeling I got after watching the first official trailer for The Losers (it even has the same music). The film is the latest adaptation via Warner Bros.’ arsenal of DC comic-book properties. The original Losers comic-book series debuted in the early 70’s and was set during WWII. From 2003-2006 a modernized version of the comic was released from DC which is what this film is based on. A few weeks ago we posted the first trailer for the A-Team movie, which seems to have very similar plot points, but The Losers looks much cooler and more badass.

Posted by: | Comments“Meh.” That’s what I said to myself after watching the first official trailer for the A-Team movie. The film is of course the big screen adaptation of the action-adventure TV series that ran for five seasons on NBC from 1983-1987. That series famously starred George Peppard, Dwight Shultz, Mr. T and Dirk Benedict as Four Vietnam vets who are framed for a crime they didn’t commit, are imprisoned, breakout and then help the innocent while on the run from the military. The first official trailer hit online a couple days ago and, as the title of this post suggests, looks pretty run-of-the-mill.

Oh what a glorious day this is. After French bootlegged versions of the trailer had been making the internet rounds last week, then were taken down by Warner Bros., the studio has rewarded our patience by debuting the second official teaser trailer for Christopher Nolan’s Inception in magnificent HD and more importantly, in English, via Apple Trailers. Now I’ve been talking about how insanely epic and badass this film will be over the last six months and this trailer has done nothing but confirm and exceeded that speculation.

We’ve been talking a lot about fanboy blockbusters recently (i.e. Avatar and Inception). So I thought it would be a nice change of pace to bring you guys the first official trailer of a heart-warming romantic comedy. The film is Valentine’s Day, and as the title of this post alludes to, seriously seems to feature every actor alive. Lets go down the cast list now, via the heart image above from right to left: Anne Hathaway, Patrick Dempsey, Julia Roberts, George Lopez, Jessica Alba, Jamie Foxx, Taylor Swift, Taylor Lautner, Jessica Biel, Ashton Kutcher, Bradley Cooper, Jennifer Garner, Topher Grace, Queen Latifah and Emma Roberts. (Deep, gasping breaths) Sorry about that, I got a little winded there. Yeah, that is seriously the cast. No joke.

Oh. My. GOD!!! Millions of movie goers from around the world will get to see the first official trailer for Iron Man 2 in theaters this weekend in front of James Cameron’s Avatar. Good thing the internet exists if you’re a movie geek. The Iron Man 2 viral has been in full effect, with newspaper clippings turning up around the internet the past couple weeks, providing clues to…something. As The Dark Knight proved in 2008, studios are wetting fanboy appetites via viral websites far in advance of the film’s release. And now, it has led us to the first official trailer for Iron Man 2.

In this edition of Trailer Trash MASH we have two trailers for upcoming Disney action-adventure blockbusters. One is based on a popular video game series, while the other is loosely based Disney’s famous Fantasia, both of which have been adapted into live-action blockbusters. Jake Gyllenhaal was at the Spike TV 2009 Video Game Awards with a special presentation of “never before seen” footage of his upcoming Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time. The first official trailer for POP was released back in early November, so the claim of “never before seen footage” seems like a farce to me, since most, if not all of the footage in this Spike teaser was shown in the previous trailer.
