Jeremy Renner to Star Opposite Tom Cruise in ‘Mission: Impossible IV’
Posted by: | CommentsWell, its safe to say that Jeremy Renner, star of Oscar Gem The Hurt Locker, has ascended to the cusp of the Hollywood elite. Whether or not he will stay there is up to him. If I ventured a guess it would be that he will be around for awhile. Although I did not personally think The Hurt Locker was all that it was cracked up to be by the adoring critics (see my review here), Renner did a superb job with his unbalanced character William James. Apparently, I was not the only one to take notice of the talent this 39 year-old possesses.
Mission: Impossible 4 Getting a Facelift?
Posted by: | CommentsIn the past I have reported about pre-production news pertaining to Mission: Impossible 4, and now some things may have changed. Many of you know that Tom Cruise recently starred in the horrible Knight and Day with the aging Cameron Diaz. I saw the movie and I personally thought it was the worst film I have seen this year. I despised this movie so much mostly because the action sequences were so ridiculous they make Lindsey Lohan’s behavior seem clean cut. For my full review of the waste of space that was Knight and Day, check it out here.
With the summer about to hit, the movie season is about to work itself into full swing. But instead of talking about some of the highly anticipated movies coming up this summer (Inception, Toy Story 3, The Last Airbender), I want to discuss some upcoming projects for future summers.
My Take on The Spider-Man Reboot and Mission Impossible 4
Posted by: | CommentsThis news is a couple weeks old, but I thought you’d like to hear my take. There have been new developments on some of the news I have reported on The Mash in recent months. Here are some quick tidbits on how the pre-production of the reboot of Spider-Man and Mission: Impossible 4 have evolved. First up, is the highly controversial reboot of the Spider-Man franchise. Most of you know by know that (500) Days of Summer director Marc Webb is set to take the reigns of the revamped Spidey franchise. Many think his successful work on the 2009 indie film will not translate when working on an action packed super hero movie like this.
Ethan Hunt Returns
Posted by: | CommentsWe have known that Tom Cruise would be getting his hands dirty in a fourth Mission: Impossible film for some time now. Before any plot or characters were announced for the movie the 47 year-old actor was initially signed on to an executive producer role along with J.J. Abrams. Now Cruise will reprise his role as Ethan Hunt in the fourth installment. But Abrams, director of Mission: Impossible 3, will not be back in the director’s chair.

● Now this sucks! Say what you want about Sean Penn and his political agenda, but the dude is an AMAZINGLY GREAT actor. He’s a two-time Oscar winner for Christ sakes! Unfortunately, Penn just announced that he’s taking a year off from making movies, to resolve “personal matters.” Last month Penn filed for a request to dismiss his divorce proceedings from his wife Robin Wright Penn, the second time he’s done so. This decision is going to affect some high-profile films that he had already committed to.
