I’m not usually one for puns, but I couldn’t resist. The movie is filled with pun-esque dialogue revolving around time, so I felt I owed it to the film. This was one of the things that never really settled in for me. I couldn’t look past this type of dialogue where characters talk about time as a currency, a way of life. And the film doesn’t help the viewer get there either as Justin Timberlake says in the beginning that he doesn’t know how the world got there — this is essentially saying, ‘This is the way of life, accept it.’ Well, it’s a lot harder to accept when not a whole lot makes sense. I will be the first to admit, my initial reaction to the trailer was way off, because In Time turned out to be a dud.

Over the past five years Justin Timberlake has halted his music career to pursue acting. In that time he’s delivered a handful of solid performances in a wide variety of films, including: Alpha Dog, Black Snake Moan, The Social Network, Friends with Benefits and the upcoming In Time. Now it seems that he’s looking to actively pursue some awards recognition by taking the lead role in Spinning Gold, a biopic on record producer Neil Bogart, the co-founder of Casablanca Records and pillar of the 70′s music scene.

Get used to Justin Timberlake as a male lead in movies. His first effort, the enjoyable Friends With Benefits, was special because of his chemistry with Mila Kunis. Now JT is taking on a futuristic action flick. I love a movie that imagines a drastically different future — the human race not being able to age past the age of 25 sounds pretty crazy right? Hit the jump to check out the trailer.

GRADE: A-

One of the chores I had to take care of this weekend was to get out and see Friends With Benefits. Yes, such a grueling life as a film critic. I wanted to see this film because it looked like it had some spirit. Despite possibly being a carbon copy of the horrible No Strings Attached, this film doesn’t have Ashton Kutcher. The male lead is an actor I love to watch as opposed to one I cannot stand — sorry Kelso. This is the perfect role for Justin Timberlake for more than just the fact he can draw the ladies to the theater. Add the stunning Mila Kunis into the mix, and you clearly have a reason for men to attend a screening. Top it off with an edgy humorous script playing out wonderfully from a polished production, and there is reason for any movie fan to get to the theater. Even people who don’t consider a rom-com flick good cinema could find themselves enjoying Friends With Benefits. It was funny, had two fantastic leads, had a great soundtrack, and was a blast to watch until the end. That is the recipe for success in this genre.

Continuing the new staple of R-rated raunchy romantic comedies designed to lure both guys and gals into the cineplex, comes the new red band trailer for the upcoming Bad Teacher. The film stars Cameron Diaz, Justin Timberlake and Jason Segel. Wait a minute. Timerlake and Diaz in the same movie where they play romantic chess games? Didn’t they have kind of a nasty break up in real life a few years ago? Awkward? Anyway, it looks over-the-top funny. Check out the trailer after the break.

Last week we posted the first official poster for David Fincher’s The Social Network. As predicted, the first teaser trailer for the film was released soon after and is now online. The film is, of course, a semi-biopic of Mark Zuckerberg, the founder of Facebook, and his rise from a lowly Harvard freshman, to one of the most powerful people on the planet. The story of the film is based on the book The Accidental Billionaires by Ben Mezrich. Check out the teaser trailer after the break.
