Casting Rumor: Are Olivia Wilde and Freida Pinto The Next Bond Girls?
Posted by: | CommentsNow this would be absolutely fantastic! Back in January we reported news that American Beauty/Revolutionary Road director Sam Mendes had signed on to direct the upcoming 23rd installment of the near 50 year-long James Bond franchise, currently being referred to as Bond 23. Since then, no information regarding the cast or production has been released, other than Daniel Craig would return as 007. Now it looks like we may have our newest Bond girls.

● Another epic comedy ensemble is being formed, this time for Simon Pegg and Nick Frost’s Paul. The writing-team blokes from the UK, responsible for bringing us Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz, wrote the script for Paul. It’s about two British nerds who go to Comic-Con in America and during their road trip they stop off at Area 51 due to their Alien affinity/nerdery. There, they meet an alien named Paul who asks them to help him escape from the U.S Government. Sounds pretty hysterical. Variety reported yesterday that Jason Batemen, Bill Hader, Kristen Wiig and Seth Rogen have all signed on to comprise the rest of the cast. Rogen is apparently not in the actual movie, but rather the voice-over for the main alien/title character, Paul. What makes this movie absolutely pure gold is the fact that it’s being directed by Greg Mottola, director of Superbad and Adventureland. Thanks to SlashFilm for the image. Paul will comence filming next month with TBD release date in 2010.
Superhero Movie News! Gambit & Thor

Sorry for the several day hiatus movie mashers, I’ve been pretty busy and now I’ve gotta play a little catchup. But I’M BACK, so let’s get right to it. I reported last week that Fox is wasting no time in expanding a new, single franchise for everyone of the characters that appeared in X-Men Origins: Wolverine. First it was Ryan Reynolds that got the immediate green light to return as the mercenary anti-hero Deadpool in his scheduled spin-off franchise. Now Gambit is getting the same treatment. Rotten Tomatoes caught up with Taylor Kitsch at Cannes and he apparently didn’t even know that his turn as Gambit had been green lit by Fox for a spin-off franchise:
“Man, good on Hugh for doing that to his body again,” he laughed as we told him about the film. “I hadn’t heard that was going to happen! You have my brain going now about what I’d love to do with Gambit!”
