‘Zoolander 2’ Not Dead After All

Way back in May of last year we reported Ben Stiller’s comments on Zoolander 2, to which the actor said he’d been working on the script for on and off over the past decade, and that he was trying his darnedest to get it made. Flash forward a year later and it seemed as though Paramount had passed on Zoolander 2, as well as a sequel to Anchorman because of budget constraints. Now, there appears to light at the end of the tunnel due to a recent tweet from Stiller in response to the question “Is Zoolander 2 still happening?” He replied:
Yes. Working on it now with my buddy Justin.
Trailer Trash MASH: Little Fockers and Red

In this edition of the Trailer Trash MASH, we have two very different movies. One is the third installment of the comedy franchise Meet the Parents, the other is a shoot’em up style movie following retired CIA agents called Red. First up we have Little Fockers, the sequel to Meet the Fockers. Some of the most quotable one liners come from Meet the Parents (I have nipples Greg, could you milk me?), and I hope Little Fockers has more of the same. The movie has all the main cast from the first two movies returning, and a few more faces to fill out new roles. Joining the crew are Jessica Alba, Laura Dern, and Harvey Keitel.
‘Les Grossman: The Movie’ is Officially Happening

You’ve no doubt been seen Tom Cruise’ appearance in Tropic Thunder back in 2008 as foul-mouthed mega-producer Les Grossman. You know, when he transformed his appearance into a bald, fat, hairy, rage-filled studio suit, screaming obscenities into his Blackberry while dancing ridiculously to “Get Back” by Ludacris. His surprising comedic cameo in the film even gained him a Golden Globe nomination. Then, you also probably saw his oddly-timed and over-used appearance at this year’s MTV Movie Awards a few days ago. So it’s obvious that this character has appeal and somewhat of an established fanbase. But is that enough for the Hollywood powers that be to make an actual movie based on this character? Well apparently, yes.

“Kin ta uuuna masupa kalosi ttttttt ssssssssmmmmmmpapapapa.” This was without a doubt the best moment of last night’s horrifyingly boring Oscar show. About mid-way through the awards, Ben Stiller came out on stage to present the Best Makeup category dressed up in full-on Na’vi makeup, poking fun of the blue aliens from Avatar. He then spouted complete gibberish, making fun of the fake Na’vi language James Cameron came up with for the film and hilarity ensued. I literally almost peed my pants and was on the floor laughing for almost 10 minutes.

“Happy…happy….happy….hahahahahaahaaaa….hahhahahahaaah….”
Stiller better tread softly on this one, as this could be unbelievably epic or unbelievably horrendous. One of the most beloved and hilarious cult comedies EVER MADE is getting a sequel. Zoolander came out almost a decade ago in 2001, sort of a long wait for a comedy sequel. However, Zoolander is an acquired taste. I know many people who hated it the first time they saw it, but then watched it again with friends once it came out on DVD and now they know every line verbatim. It’s so irreverent and quirky that it takes time to grow on some people. NOT ME! I laughed my ass off in the theater 8 years ago and the 20,000 other times I’ve seen it since then.
