Webisodes and Fun Little Movies
Posted by: | CommentsWebisode series are a brilliant idea and a great form of quick entertainment. At this point in our constant Internet use, I find it surprising that the creation of webisodes is still somewhat less appreciated than other forms of film. The whole idea is based around fast entertainment for the online community. Webisodes allow one to watch an episode in a matter of 2 to 10 minutes, rather than a half hour to an hour. And forget the commercial breaks, there isn’t time for the annoyance of what diapers you should buy for the baby you don’t have.
Your New Best Friend, ‘Wilfred’
Posted by: | CommentsOriginally an Australian TV show, the American adaptation of Wilfred has brought a unique, witty, disgustingly awesome humor to the summer television lineup on FX. Elijah Wood plays Ryan — a recently single, young professional who has been thrown into depression after losing his job as a successful lawyer. Ryan is ready to call it quits when his attractive neighbor Jenna (Fiona Gubelmann), and her dog Wilfred (Jason Gann), come over to greet him in the midst of his suicide attempt. Instead of seeing an actual dog, Ryan sees a middle-aged man in a dog suit, that talks to him in an Australian accent. Ryan quickly comes to terms with the fact that he is the only human being able to talk to Wilfred — as well as indulge in ridiculous activities like bong smoking and beer drinking, all the while getting in trouble with “man’s best friend”.
Hilarious Interview With ‘Fast Five’ “Screenwriter”
Posted by: | CommentsI always love to browse The Onion News Network website and to laugh at the parodies they pump out. The latest joke is on Fast Five, which comes out this weekend. Of course this is the fifth installment of the mindless action franchise, and earlier this week it was announced that a sixth was inevitable. All the previous four films have had lucrative profits, and Fast Five is already making big money overseas since it was released last week. Hollywood, being the money hungry business that it is, will pump out sequels until people stop going to see this franchise. Anyway, hit the jump to see an interview with the “screenwriter” of Fast Five. It isn’t the real author, but it is hilarious to see The Onion poke fun at the idea of how unintelligent these films are.
Get ‘Dazed and Confused’ in Two Minutes With Mac Lethal
Posted by: | CommentsCinema and hip hop have collided to birth a unique version of the movie Dazed and Confused. The mastermind behind this creative piece is one of my favorite hip hop artists, Mac Lethal. Let’s begin with Dazed and Confused. The movie came out in 1993 under the direction of Richard Linklater (Slacker, A Scanner Darkly). Getting drunk, hazing freshman, getting stoned, ditching class, driving cool cars, and getting laid are all themes that have made the film a hit. The plot is nothing special, but the movie captured high school in the 70′s, and that has been enough to earn the movie a cult following. If you have not seen the movie already, Linklater does an interesting job of portraying the era.

‘Star Wars Episode III’ Ripped Apart
Posted by: | CommentsIn the past, I have posted links to Red Letter Media’s breakdowns of the Star Wars prequels. The glaring failures in the films pointed out in these videos are absolutely invigorating. Granted, the crazy character bringing forth the analysis in these videos is more than just a little crazy, but his breakdown of the three prequels is spot on. The reviews break down all the flaws in the newest Star Wars films and why they don’t even begin to compare to the originals. Even if you think you loved or liked the prequels, after seeing these videos, I guarantee your perception will be altered. Hit the jump to check out the breakdown of Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith.
Hilarious Parody Infomercial For ‘The Movie Mash’
Posted by: | CommentsBehold, the Movie Mash brings you the first piece of original entertainment from the site. For a final project in one of my multimedia classes I decided to take a creative angle for the assignment. Everyone else in the class was fulfilling the requirements for the project by doing a hard news story. Even though this class was grounded in honing our abilities to work in Electronic News Reporting (it was a requirement), I personally have no interest in hard news or broadcast news. So in an effort to let my creativity shine, I pitched the idea of an infomercial parody to my teacher instead of a news story and he surprisingly gave me the green light. Hit the jump to check it out.

Posted by: | CommentsThe progress of Green Lantern has been kept under the radar throughout the film’s production. Word is the first trailer for Green Lantern will be attached to Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows next week. To give fans a brief look at the superhero before November 19th, Entertainment Tonight has a sneak peek at the first video of Ryan Reynolds transforming into Green Lantern and using the power ring.
