Goodbye Summer, Hello Fall Television! New NBC Shows Preview!
Posted by: | CommentsSadly, we find ourselves once more at the end of Summer. The Minnesota State Fair has come and gone, the temperature is starting to drop, and soon the leaves will change their colors and fall to the ground. Fear not, because with the end up Summer brings us the beginning of Fall. I don’t know what it is but something about this time of year gets me excited. It’s a great time for camping, hiking, bon fires, oh and how could I forget…. FALL TELEVISION!
Hmm…lets see. What do we have in store for us this year? Which of my aforementioned pilots were picked up, which did I leave out, and what shows have we forgotten about over the Summer? Let’s find out!
New Previews For ‘Community’ and ‘Parks and Rec’
Posted by: | CommentsThe Fall means back to school for some, but means new TV for us all. With the daylight leaving earlier as the days pass, it’s better sit and watch TV than be out in the dark. The season premieres of Community and Parks and Rec are just around the corner, so lets take a peak at the upcoming seasons that debut September 22.
Your New Best Friend, ‘Wilfred’
Posted by: | CommentsOriginally an Australian TV show, the American adaptation of Wilfred has brought a unique, witty, disgustingly awesome humor to the summer television lineup on FX. Elijah Wood plays Ryan — a recently single, young professional who has been thrown into depression after losing his job as a successful lawyer. Ryan is ready to call it quits when his attractive neighbor Jenna (Fiona Gubelmann), and her dog Wilfred (Jason Gann), come over to greet him in the midst of his suicide attempt. Instead of seeing an actual dog, Ryan sees a middle-aged man in a dog suit, that talks to him in an Australian accent. Ryan quickly comes to terms with the fact that he is the only human being able to talk to Wilfred — as well as indulge in ridiculous activities like bong smoking and beer drinking, all the while getting in trouble with “man’s best friend”.
Eighth Season of ‘Entourage’ Kicks Off With a “Fiery” Start
Posted by: | CommentsSunday night kicked off the eighth and final season of Entourage. I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t looking forward to this premiere. After last seasons horrific shit show brought on by main character Vincent Chase, this season we were expecting to see Vince put his life and career back together piece by piece. Well, we don’t get to see that in detail as I had hoped, but the season will show Vinny getting his career back on track. Check the break for the trailer of what to expect in the last 8 episodes and my thoughts on the season premiere.
‘The Amazing Spider-Man’ Teaser & ‘Dexter’ Trailer
Posted by: | CommentsA few days ago I posted a lineup of new photos from The Amazing Spider-Man. The set photos got a Spidey fan like myself ready for the Summer 2012 reboot. Now with Comic Con going on in San Diego, of course fans are going to get some more juicy bits from the upcoming comic book films. Add The Amazing Spider-Man to the list as the teaser hit the web the other day.
Yesterday I posted the Dexter teaser for Season Six. But today the full trailer came about for the new season, and instead of adding it to the teaser post of yesterday, I’ll add it here. Dexter deserves two posts in two days. Did I mention I love Dexter?
“Thank God” — The ‘Dexter’ Season Six Promo
Posted by: | CommentsDexter. If you haven’t seen it, you have five seasons to catch up on. Dexter is my favorite show, and one that has never disappointed me. Never once, in its five season run. I have savored every moment. If you haven’t seen Dexter, I envy you. You have the chance to see it all for the first time — to revel in the shock each season brings. Just if I could hook up with Will Smith, he could flashy-thing me. I’d forget it all. However, new blood is on the horizon — the new episodes of Season Six are just around the corner. Hit the jump to watch the promo for the newest season of Dexter.
‘Game of Thrones’ – The 2011 Television Triumph
Posted by: | Comments
Any skepticism I had about Game of Thrones making it as a television series has been layed to rest. The show has been a thrilling success–it has enticed viewers in the same fashion that the book series captivated readers with its characters, complexity, and charisma. In fact, from what I have gathered many people who have not read the books are loving this HBO series. That is something worth celebrating a horn of wine over, while sitting at a long table in a world like Westeros. We can only imagine, and allow this TV show and the novels put us in the imaginary realm. The show is truly unlike any other fantasy you will ever watch–and now that episode 9 has left everyone in shock, waiting for some sort of release over the atrocity in King’s Landing, it is time to examine the gritty awesomeness of Game of Thrones.
Colin Hanks & Mos Def Will Join Everyone’s Favorite Serial Killer ‘Dexter’
Posted by: | CommentsWe’ve got some news on the Dexter front; Colin Hanks and Mos Def will be joining the cast for the upcoming sixth season. On first hearing the news I thought, “Hmm alright… I guess I can see this working out.” As the news sank in I started to feel more positive about it. Colin Hanks has some good stuff under his belt — one of my personal favorites The Great Buck Howard (good ups on this recommendation Matt). As for Mos Def, well normally I’d probably have to hate on any rapper/actor joining one of my favorite shows; but I like Mos Def. He’s definitely no Oscar winner or anything, but damn its better than having Tyrese join the cast! Check out more on Dexter as well as a teaser trailer below.
HBO Releases Season Premiere Dates For Summer Shows
Posted by: | CommentsDisappointment lingers in the air during the end of Winter. Television season finales like Californication have come and gone, and in doing so have left us with a few weeks for our DVRs to FINALLY get the much needed rest they deserve. This disappointment won’t last because the arrival of Spring brings the chance to reconnect with our favorite characters from Summer shows. HBO announced the premiere dates for some of its upcoming Summer line up. Check the break for details.
