New Buried, Get Him To The Greek and Jonah Hex Movie Posters
Posted by: | CommentsToday I’ve got a slew of new movie posters for you. One is for a comic-book action movie, the other is for an anticipated summer comedy, and the last one is for a secretive and mysterious upcoming thriller. The first comes from the bewilderingly quiet big summer release from Warner Bros., Jonah Hex. The film is of course the first big-screen adaptation of the popular DC Comics series, where Hex (Josh Brolin) is a scarred bounty hunter tracking down the voodoo practitioner Turnbull (John Malkovich), who wants to raise an army of undead to liberate the South. The film started production over a year ago and we haven’t heard ONE peep via viral marketing, trailers or posters until now. And the film is set to release in just over two months on June 18. Very perplexing, Warner Bros.
Iron Man 2 UPDATE: First Official IM2 Poster Reveals War Machine

It’s been a while since we’ve reported anything on Iron Man 2. Jon Favreau & Co. have been very quite since debuting five minutes of footage at Comic-Con in July; a bootlegged version of which you can watch on YouTube. While this is undoubtedly one of the most-anticipated blockbusters of 2010 and is sure to rake in a fortune, I’m surprised by the lack of official footage that Marvel has yet to release.
First Glance: A Bloody Megan Fox & Eminem In Funny People

After battling massive transforming alien-robots for the past four years, Megan Fox decided to go a different route for her next movie. And it seems as though she wanted to get down and dirty, or should I say, down and BLOODY?! Fox’ next upcoming movie is called Jennifer’s Body. The film is described as a Heathers-like dark comedy, which tells the story of a seemingly-perfect cheerleader whose life is thrown into disarray when she gets possessed by a demon, begins eating boys in her small town, then faces off against her best friend and the Satan-worshiping band that made her evil.
First Glance: Tim Burton’s Alice In Wonderland…Is On Acid, Shrooms & PCP

What else would you expect? Director Tim Burton has created some of the weirdest, trippiest, bizarre and visually- stunning worlds in cinematic history, but it looks like his newest film is going to take the cake. It’s been in the making for some time, but USA Today finally has our first glance at Burton’s interpretation of Alice In Wonderland. The featured concept art photo above is of Alice, played by relative newcomer Mia Wasikowska (Defiance), standing in a garden of talking flowers, at the entrance of a giant mushroom forest. After countless film adaptations of the historic Lewis Carroll novels Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking-Glass, it appears as if Burton’s adaptation will be the strangest yet. As if that even seemed possible.
Some Quick Tidbits

● Another epic comedy ensemble is being formed, this time for Simon Pegg and Nick Frost’s Paul. The writing-team blokes from the UK, responsible for bringing us Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz, wrote the script for Paul. It’s about two British nerds who go to Comic-Con in America and during their road trip they stop off at Area 51 due to their Alien affinity/nerdery. There, they meet an alien named Paul who asks them to help him escape from the U.S Government. Sounds pretty hysterical. Variety reported yesterday that Jason Batemen, Bill Hader, Kristen Wiig and Seth Rogen have all signed on to comprise the rest of the cast. Rogen is apparently not in the actual movie, but rather the voice-over for the main alien/title character, Paul. What makes this movie absolutely pure gold is the fact that it’s being directed by Greg Mottola, director of Superbad and Adventureland. Thanks to SlashFilm for the image. Paul will comence filming next month with TBD release date in 2010.
UPDATE: “Mystery Team” Finds a Distributor!!

HIP HIP…HOOOORRRRRAAAAAAYYYY!!!! I cautioned you a few weeks ago to keep your eyes peeled for Mystery Team. It’s the debut feature film from the guys (and girl) from Derrick Comedy. For those who don’t know, Derrick Comedy is a sketch comedy group comprised of young and very talented NY Film School grads. Most of their stuff can be found on YouTube, their most well-known of which probably being Bro Rape.
Hottest, Sexiest Cast Ever Assembled For “Valentine’s Day”

Uhhh…HELLO!!!! And I wasn’t even able squeeze Jennifer Garner’s pic in there. Needless to say this is an epic gathering of Hollywood’s elite A-list hotties. The Hollywood Reporter has the scoop that veteran Rom-Com director Garry Marshall (Pretty Woman, Runaway Bride) will direct New Line’s upcoming romantic comedy Valentine’s Day. Per the pics above, the film’s cast includes: Julia Roberts, Anne Hathaway, Jessica Biel, Jessica Alba and Jennifer Garner rounding out the gorgeous female line up. Legendary actress Shirley Maclaine is also in the film. Don’t worry ladies, there’s plenty of eye candy for you too. Mr. Punk’d Ashton Kutcher and Green Lantern candidate Bradley Cooper will comprise the lead male roles.
First Glance: Leo, Marti and Michelle Williams on the Set of “Shutter Island”
Posted by: | CommentsEmpire Magazine has the exclusive first released photo of Leonardo DiCaprio, Michelle Williams and director Martin Scorsese on the set of Shutter Island.

The film, as with every Scorsese project, boasts an impeccable supporting cast including: Mark Ruffalo, Ben Kingsley, the lovely Emily Mortimer and Rorshach himself, Jackie Earle Haley.
Based on the novel Shutter Island by Dennis Lehane, it is an atmospheric psychological thriller set in a 1950s asylum for the criminally insane. It’s 1954, and up-and-coming U.S. marshal Teddy Daniels (Leo) is assigned to investigate the disappearance of a patient from Shutter Island’s Ashecliffe Hospital. He’d been gunning for an assignment on the island for reasons of his own — but before long he wonders whether he hasn’t been brought there as part of a twisted plot by hospital doctors whose radical treatments range from unethical to illegal to downright sinister.
Teddy’s code-breaking skills soon provide a promising lead, but the hospital refuses him access to records he suspects would break the case wide open. As a hurricane cuts off communication with the mainland, more dangerous criminals “escape” in the confusion, and the puzzling, improbable clues proliferate, Teddy begins to doubt everything — his memory, his partner, even his own sanity.
Couldn’t ask for anything better from Leo and Marti, two of the best filmmakers to ever grace Hollywood. Shutter Island (poster left) is their fourth film together. I’m also very happy to see Michelle Williams in a mainstream film with obvious quality; the first such film since Heath Ledger’s death. Shutter Island opens everywhere October 2nd.

Combo Platter: Poster Alert & Trailer Trash For “Moon”
Posted by: | CommentsSource: FirstShowing
Below is a gorgeous and unique poster, as well as the first trailer, for the upcoming indie Sci-Fi thriller Moon. The film stars the fantastic Sam Rockwell as astronaut Sam Bell, who has a quintessentially personal encounter toward the end of his three-year stint on the Moon, where he, working alongside his computer, GERTY, sends back to Earth parcels of a resource that has helped diminish our planet’s power problems. Poster & trailer below.

The film premiered at Sundance earlier this year, receiving outstanding reviews and buzz. I said it a few weeks ago that Sci-Fi is making a truly epic comeback in 2009-10 with Star Trek and James Cameron’s Avatar coming out this year and Christopher Nolan’s Inception arriving next summer. Now we also have Moon, unfortunately opening in only limited release on June 12. This film looks much more psychologically thrilling than most Sci-Fi films, which is what ultimately makes it look so appealing and fresh. Check out the trailer below.

Duely Poster Alert! “Sherlock Holmes” & “Drag Me to Hell”
Posted by: | Comments
This first poster was revealed at the film exhibition ShoWest in Las Vegas this week. Sherlock Holmes is the latest film adaption of the legendary British detective, this time being portrayed by red-hot Robert Downey Jr. The film is being directed by Guy Ritchie (Snatch, Lock Stock) who should bring some genuine grit from the streets of London. Jude Law will be playing Holmes’ trusty side-kick Dr. Watson, and the adorable and beautiful Rachel McAdams will be playing the love interest. Film opens everywhere this Christmas.
Director, writer, producer Sam Raimi (Spider-Man franchise) goes back to his horror roots with Drag Me to Hell. It stars Alison Lohman (Matchstick Men) who has to evict a troubled, old lady from her apartment. The old, disturbed woman then casts a supernatural curse on Lohman that literally makes her life a living hell. Funnyman Justin Long takes break from comedy to help Lohman deal with her dire circumstances. Poster is pretty brutal. Opens everywhere May 29th.
