Check This Out: Jimmy Kimmel’s Post-Oscar Spoof ‘Movie: The Movie: 2V’
Posted by: | Comments
Piggy-backing of the success of last year’s star-studded post-Oscar spoof Movie: The Movie, Jimmy Kimmel & Co. are back at it again with the inevitable sequel Movie: The Movie: 2V. It follows the same formula of featuring pretty much every A-list star ever (something that seemingly only Kimmel can pull off these days), whilst poking fun at famous moments in some of our most-recent blockbusters, as well as some of the more glaring clichés present in today’s cinematic landscape. Check it out after the break.
New Look For Spidey in ‘The Amazing Spider-Man’ Sequel
Posted by: | CommentsThe image above is Peter Parker’s new get-up for Marc Webb’s sequel to The Amazing Spider-Man. You’ll notice the eyes on the suit are much larger, matching the look from the comic Ultimate Spider-Man. I personally like the new look a lot — the bigger eyes even seem practical giving Parker a larger field of vision with the bigger lenses. Hit the jump to see the full pic via ComingSoon.
Good Stuff: ‘Bane Causes the Super Bowl Blackout’
Posted by: | CommentsThis year’s Super Bowl has come and gone. But online jokers are still releasing parody vids ripping on this year’s festivities. Obviously the biggest “WTF?” moment was the blackout in the Super Dome, in which power was lost for a brief period of time. What, nay, WHO caused the blackout? Well obviously the world’s most notorious football game terrorist…BANE!!! Funny Or Die released a video that playfully shows Bane’s poor attempt at causing a mildly irritating lapse in power at the game, but it doesn’t go according to plan, forcing Bane (played by Chris Kattan) to provide funny observations about the commercials and Beyonce’s half-time performance. It’s worth a chuckle. Check it out after the break.
Pretty Cool: ‘Every Pop Culture Reference from Tarantino Movies in Chronological Order’
Posted by: | CommentsThe thing that makes Quentin Tarantino such an innovative filmmaker is his unparalleled originality in crafting interesting dialogue in his scripts. As a student of American (and beyond) film, television, comic books, etc. himself, Tarantino has integrated may nods to the vast landscape of popular culture throughout most of his films. Which is why this video I stumbled across on College Humor is so cool. It’s called Every Pop Culture Reference from Tarantino Movies in Chronological Order, which pretty much sums it up for you. Check it out after the break.

December was a big month for J.J. Abrams’ sequel to his awesome 2009 Star Trek reboot, Star Trek: Into Darkness. Just a few minutes ago I was scrolling through my Facebook Newsfeed and saw photo album uploaded by the official Star Trek fan page, featuring a slew of brand spankin’ new high-res images from the film. First Look at Danny Boyle’s ‘Trance’
Posted by: | CommentsWe haven’t heard much from Danny Boyle since 2010′s 127 Hours with James Franco. But in the meantime (along with his Olympic Games directorial debut) Boyle has been hard at work on his next project, Trance. In the film, a fine-art auctioneer (James McAvoy) is in league with a gang of thieves (led by Ocean’s Twelve star Vincent Cassel) and enlists the assistance of a hypnotherapist (Rosario Dawson) to help him recover a lost painting. Sounds like a fun caper-thriller from the Oscar-winning filmmaker. Hit the jump for more.
We’re nearing the end of 2012, thus come the requisite and inevitable ”Top” lists and compilations of the best films of the year. One thing that sometimes goes unfairly disregarded are the awful pieces of crap that have hit cinemas this year. Which is why this video coompilation titled The Worst Movies of 2012 Review Themselves is such a simultaneous delicious treat and depressing recap of garbage. Included are such wonderful cinematic gems as Adam Sandler’s god awful That’s My Boy and Tyler Perry’s Madea’s Witness Protection, among others. Hit the jump to watch the video.
New Pictures Tease Mike Wazowski as a Student in ‘Monsters University’
Posted by: | CommentsMonsters University is definitely one of my most anticipated films of 2013. It’s no secret I have a soft spot for Pixar flicks and Monsters Inc. is one of my favorites from the animation studio. Upon hearing of a sequel, my reaction was akin to a giddy high school girl — I mean, an excited refined movie journalist. Yeah. After the jump you can check out a couple more images from the Monsters Inc. sequel.
Joseph Gordon Levitt (or JGL as I and many affectionately call him) continues his takeover of Hollywood with his upcoming writing/directing debut with Don Jon’s Addiction. The film stars JGL (of course) and is joined by the lovely and talented Scarlett Johansson and Julianne Moore. The description thus far of the film’s story is that of a “sexy comedy about a modern day Don Juan, and his quest to become less of a ‘selfish dick’” A refreshingly candid synopsis, but we would’t expect anything less from JGL’s “cut the bullshit” creative mentality, and I’m sure we can expect the same with Don Jon’s Addiction. See the first production still for the film, just released, and more after the break.
