Michael Bay’s New Turtles Movie Titled ‘Ninja Turtles’
Posted by: | CommentsIt seems like the more news I read about this new TMNT movie that Michael Bay is producing, the more I just want to scream at my computer until it shatters. Michael Bay recently posted some news on the Turtle project including the new title of the film, now simply titled Ninja Turtles. He also continued his attempt to calm the masses that are protesting the changes made to the backstory.

Bad News for a Fincher Directed ‘The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo’ Sequel
Posted by: | CommentsDespite The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo receiving high praise from critics, especially from myself, MGM is reporting they took a financial loss on the David Fincher product. The studio reports the film performed below expectations and they took a “modest loss.” The studio wanted about 10% higher returns from the film, something they could, and hopefully will, make up in DVD/Blu-ray sales. With this in mind, and how stingy studios are about continuing a franchise they don’t see as extremely lucrative, will this data affect the production of the sequels in the Millennium franchise?
The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Are Aliens Because Michael Bay Says So
Posted by: | CommentsI recently wrote an article on the progress of the new live action TMNT film. Since then a lot of pieces have slowly fallen into place for this movie to happen. Recently Michael Bay was talking about the reboot and decided to be very upfront with his new take on the origins of our favorite hero’s in a half shell.

Joss Whedon Talks About ‘The Avengers’ Runtime
Posted by: | CommentsThe Avengers is coming out in less than two months, not that we’re counting or anything. We’ve seen trailers, TV spots, posters, interviews, and clips, so there can’t be much more to release before the film hits theatres on May 4th. But one thing that always pops up in discussion of highly anticipated movies is the length of the film itself. So how long will audiences be subjected to The Avengers awesomeness? Director Joss Whedon talked a little about the length of the upcoming film with Collider at SXSW.
Found Footage and Sequel Madness
Posted by: | CommentsFound footage films are becoming more and more popular in Hollywood these days. Its most recent success story would have to be that of Project X, a film Barrett enjoyed. It’s been out for less than two weeks and already made almost twice as much as it cost to make. Anyone would call that a success. Anytime a movie is considered a success, it’s almost required there be a sequel to keep the cash flow going. The Hollywood Reporter has the story that writers Michael Bacall and Matt Drake will be returning to write a Project X sequel if producers Todd Phillips and Joel Silver are willing to return, and signs seem to be pointing to yes. The sequel is tentatively titled Project X 2.
Michael Bay’s ‘Pain and Gain’ Needs Help
Posted by: | CommentsSince 2007 Michael Bay has done nothing but Transformers films. You could call that a good thing because together the three films have grossed more than $2.5 billion. And you could also call that a bad thing because Michael is slated to direct a fourth Transformers movie. But before he dives back into the Hasbro money-pool, he has made it clear that his next project would be much smaller in scale, budget, and definitely not in the Transformers universe. He signed on for a dark comedy called Pain And Gain. The film is about a couple of Miami bodybuilders who get caught up in an extortion ring involved in a kidnapping scheme that goes terribly wrong. Sounds a lot like Fargo. Too much like Fargo. Now comes word this pre-production project needs immediate script revisions. Which is funny, cause Transformers 2 had the same issue, but never saw such revisions.
New ‘Men in Black III’ Trailer Promises Little More Than Fun, Mindless Action
Posted by: | CommentsAh, Men in Black, a franchise that is giving us more of something we don’t really want or need, a third film in this franchise. This doesn’t mean I won’t see it, but I definitely am not itching to do so, nor do I need to see it. Mike posted the tease for this film a few months back, and now we are being treated to a full length trailer which shows more about the film. Little is shown about the foe in this third chapter, but the typical MIB shenanigans are on full display in this pitch — the world is about to end, and the only defense from total destruction are those men hidden in the fabric of secret alien government operations. Can’t say I’m ecstatic or even really that interested in this film, but, it’s worth talking about.
