Nerds of the Round Table: Episode 2, August Summer Movie Preview

In Episode 1 of Nerds of the Round Table, Ryan, Travis and I discussed our favorite films of the summer thus far, our biggest disappointments and a breakdown of what’s currently going on in the superhero genre. In Episode 2, we’re going to look at the month of August by discussing the three biggest films of the month: G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra, District 9 and Inglorious Basterds. As always, we’ll provide expert insight and analysis of what you can expect from this later stage of summer movies.

In Part 1 of Comic-Con 2009 “Tha Re-Cap,” I discussed a lot of the news and footage that had been revealed by movie panels in attendance. In Part 2 of “Tha Re-Cap,” we get into some even juicier tidbits. Some of the topics discussed in Part 2 of my Comic-Con re-cap video blog include: new Iron Man 2 footage, the new Boondock Saints 2 trailer, Seth Rogen’s Green Hornet, True Blood, the status on the Arrested Development movie, Kevin Smith’s A Couple of Dicks possible forced title change, AND…..wait for it….Gary Oldman says that Batman 3 will commence filming next year and come out in the summer of 2011. Whaaaaaaaa???!?!?!??!
The Movie Mash Presents “Nerds of the Round Table”: Episode 1, Part 1

I provided Movie Mash readers with an audio podcast a few weeks ago discussing the expansion of the Oscar Best Picture nominees from 5 to 10. In an attempt to provide more insight and interaction, myself and a couple other Mashers sat down and had an in-depth discussion about some intriguing movie topics…and filmed it. Myself, contributor Travis Andries and #2 commenter Ryan Hamilton aka Moosh, re-capped some of the summer releases thus far, and shared our thoughts on the best and worst movies, as well as providing some insight into the state of the superhero genre.
