Don’t you get tired of people talking on their cell phones and texting at the theater? Don’t you get annoyed when two people are whispering to one another, or even talking constantly? Don’t you get annoyed when a lady stays in the theater during Paranormal Activity 3 with a crying infant? The latter happened to me, at the press screening actually, ruined the “quiet” horror flick. Crying. The mom still had the baby in the theater. Someone sternly asked her to leave (#mightHaveBeenMe).

Theater etiquette could almost be considered an ancient virtue standing up against today’s theater goers. Here at The Movie Mash, we stand to speak out against it — this time around in the form of a Mortal Kombat inspired short video. Haven’t you ever imagined having this type of a brawl with some of those more annoying movie patrons?

One of my current and ongoing obsessions is finding Nicolas Cage videos, memes, gifs and any sort of internet hilarity that rips on the actor. As we all know, Cage has become known more for his odd (aka horrible) film choices, than being an actual actor; translating into a constant onslaught of crap. This is a couple years old but I came across this College Humor video today whilst parusing on YouTube, and it features Nicolas Cage’s agent begging and pleading with him to not choose to do every film that comes his way. It doesn’t go so well, and the result is pretty damn funny.

This definitely isn’t the best parody video out there, the guy who plays Bruce Wayne/Batman looks like he should be in a dumpy fast food commercial, but the ending sure gave me a good laugh. With The Dark Knight Rises on the horizon, the influx of Batman parodies is surely going continue to rise. Every guy and their brother does a raspy Batman parody. This one is mostly mediocre, except for the ending. So check it out, and stay til the end.

Alright, while this might not be ripe for box office success, it’s great for a few minutes of laughs. It’s always fun to see a serious artist like Steven Spielberg having some fun, especially when pieces of this video parody some of the famous director’s most notable works. Many consider Saturday Night Live to be declining in quality, I am amongst those critics, but every now and then the show features a real gem like this one.

The Hunger Games mania is sweeping the nation. Even Brad Pitt is smitten with star Jennifer Lawrence. Is Bradgelina in troubs? Anyway, I saw this streaming down my Twitter feed this morning and it’s a pretty funny pardody commercial for The Hunger Games Game, set to the tone of an innocent doll spot that you’d see on the Disney channel during an iCarly break, but the rules of this game follow that of the brutal story of the book/film, and it’s a great tonal contrast:

“Slaughter your oppenents. Survive at all costs. And find out who-who-who’s got a CRUSH on you!!!”

It’s pretty damn funny. Check it out after the break.

Until it was confirmed last year that Bane would be the featured villain in The Dark Knight Rises, director Christopher Nolan emphatically stated that there would be no attempt, in any way, shape or form to bring back the Joker for his final Batman film. Still, people speculated that Nolan could/would/should use CGI, or cut footage of Heath Ledger from TDK, or recast the character (Joseph Gordon-Levitt was mentioned often). It was incessent, endless, blind hope and speculation that grew rather tiresome over many, MANY months. So that’s why this recent Onion article is side-splitting hilarious. It reports that a legion of movie fans are demanding Nolan include Ledger’s Joker in TDKR, and “aren’t interested in what is or isn’t physically possible within the generally accepted bounds of reality.” It’s great, read the full article after the break.

What if Apple invented an updated version of their software Siri that read your thoughts? Imagine not having to type, or even speak, and your phone responds to your very thoughts. What a world that would be right? I can’t say that wouldn’t be cool, but I am sure there would be some drawbacks. Hit the jump to see a short video I created that highlights the possible negatives of having a thought reading phone.

The video embedded after the jump is of course a joke, but it shows the immensely talented Jean Dujardin auditioning for villainous roles with the crew over at Funny or Die. The man just had his big break into Hollywood playing George Valentine in a film I adored, The Artist. The old saying, ‘strike while the iron is hot’ comes into play here, and the French actor is playing at the fact he needs to take advantage of his newly found fame.

“Zuckerberg deleted Facebook and then killed himself………FOREVER.”

My friend Brenden posted this on my Timeline and it’s good for a chuckle. It’s a parody trailer for a sequel to David Fincher’s Oscar-winning The Social NetworkThe Social Network 2, via the YouTube comedy troupe Nice Nice Productions. The premise centers around Jeremy Hewitt who is dubbed “the most gifted Facebook user in the world.” That is until Mark Zuckerberg deletes the social network from online existence, forcing people to translate their Facebook behavior, offline in real-life. And it’s pretty funny. Check it out after the break.

I think we can all agree that Rise of the Planet of the Apes was a suprisingly good film this year. And a lot of the buzz has come from motion capture actor extrodinare Andy Serkis’ performance as the lead ape, Caesar. There has even been buzz and a small Oscar campaign for his “revolutionary” performance and ability to use physicality to convey emotioin and create compelling drama. Well, comedians Rob Huebel and Paul Scheer are poking fun at Serkis with this new Funny or Die video that shows the real-life artistry and dedication of inanimate object motion capture acting. Check out the video after the break.
