A Look at the 2011 Upcoming Pilots
Posted by: | CommentsWith so many new pilots being green-lit, 79 if my math is correct, it is difficult to know where to start looking for new shows to watch. Instead of going overboard and giving each one its own in-depth article, I’ve decided to make a list of the most talked about pilots and the ones that have caught my eye hitting the small screen in the upcoming year. Come on guys, lists are fun! Check the break for details.
We haven’t heard a peep of casting rumors or news from The Dark Knight Rises since that supposed “shortlist” of actresses popped up online exactly two months ago. Well, a new year brings us a new slate of casting tidbits, as two separate reports claim different actresses are either meeting with producers and/or have already been given roles. Although neither report received confimation from Warner Bros., one thing is for certain: everyone in Hollywood wants to work with Christopher Nolan.
‘Spider-Man’ Set Photos and Flash Thompson Joins the Cast
Posted by: | CommentsI just posted about the Marc Webb Spider-Man reboot, but I wanted to quickly tell readers the character Flash Thompson has been cast, and to show the first set photos of Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy. Hit the jump for more.
The ‘Spider-Man’ Reboot Gets New Cast Members and New 3D Cameras
Posted by: | CommentsThe latest on the Spider-Man casting introduces Peter Parker’s parents into the picture and brings another villain on board besides The Lizard. All the actors are in reported talks with Sony to join Marc Webb’s Spider-Man 3D reboot. But you will have to hit the jump to learn more.
A few weeks ago we reported that Christopher Nolan was planning to meet with potential actresses for an unspecified lead female role in The Dark Knight Rises. About a week later, rumors were circulating that Nolan was eying Charlize Theron, Vera Farminga and Kacie Thomas to play the roles of Detective Sarah Essen and Julie Madison; that latter of whom was most recently, and I might add, brilliantly portrayed by Elle McPherson in the timeless Batman and Robin. Picking up on my sarcasm, eh? That rumor was never substantiated. Today, Deadline is reporting that Nolan will be meeting with six A-list actresses for TWO lead female roles for his Batman finale.
Uncle Ben and Aunt May Cast in ‘Spider-Man’ Reboot
Posted by: | CommentsWe’ve kept you well-informed on the casting for the Marc Webb’s upcoming 3D Spider-Man reboot, and now we have a couple of veteran actors climbing aboard the project. Martin Sheen and Sally Field have reportedly agreed to play the roles of Uncle Ben and Aunt May, the two who raised Peter Parker since childhood. As you all should know, Uncle Ben is the reason why Parker becomes Spider-Man. In the traditional Spider-Man story, Uncle Ben’s murder during a robbery inspires Parker to use his superpowers to fight crime.
Mel Gibson to Appear in ‘The Hangover 2’?
Posted by: | CommentsPretty sweet picture, huh? Anyway, in the midst of his personal meltdown, that I surely don’t need to re-cap, Mel Gibson is still getting some work that could possibly be the first step in his professional recovery. The New York Post’s Page Six is reporting (via E!) that Gibson has inked a deal to appear in the sequel to The Hangover, currently titled The Hangover 2, as a Bangkok tattoo artist; Bangkok, Thailand is the setting for the film. I don’t know about you, but regardless of his psychotic, misogynistic, racist behavior, I’m totally on board with this.
It Begins: Tom Hardy Officially Cast in ‘Batman 3’
Posted by: | CommentsI’ve had a stupid grin on my face all day. Did I just get back from a date with Evangeline Lilly? No. Did I win a free iPad? Nope. Did some concrete casting news surrounding possibly one of the most-anticipated movies ever finally break? Yup. Deadline has the exclusive scoop (via Nolan Fans) that Inception‘s Tom Hardy has been tapped by Christopher Nolan to appear in his sequel to The Dark Knight, currently labeled Batman 3. Is he going to play The Riddler? Maybe Black Mask? Perhaps Deadshot? Or possibly some mysterious new character that Nolan & Co. have cooked up? Find out after the break.
Spider-Man Reboot Gets Significantly Better as Emma Stone Joins the Cast
Posted by: | CommentsFinally, more Spider-Man news. Over the weeks I have been eagerly awaiting to finally put a legitimate post about some concrete Spidey announcements. Last week it was rumored Emma Stone was being circled by Sony to play a role in the reboot, but I refused to write about the speculation because I wanted something solid. Well, after patiently waiting, Sony finally delivered by announcing Emma Stone will indeed be in their newest Spider-Man flick via a press release that broke yesterday.
Sawyer, errr, Josh Holloway, The Latest to Join ‘M:I4’ Cast
Posted by: | CommentsThe casting news surrounding the untitled fourth Mission: Impossible film has been a hot topic in weeks past. The film recently added an adversary to pit against the Tom Cruise-led team of operatives and also pulled Paula Patton into the lead female role. The newest addition to the cast comes from one of my favorite television actors Josh Holloway. Any LOST fan will surely recognize the 41 year-old instantly as Holloway played the rouge character Sawyer on the the hit ABC show that wrapped up this past year.
