Theatrical Trailer For ‘The Lone Ranger’ Reveals An Action Packed Western

By

You can now look at Gore Verbinski and Johnny Depp as a team consistently destined for box office bucks and epic movies. Their new trailer for The Lone Ranger proves it, as if they didn’t have enough success with The Pirates Of The Caribbean trilogy. Gore has directed 9 major motion pictures and over half of those movies feature Johnny Depp in a lead role. The latest film they collaborated on is a remake based on a series that dates back to 1933 where The Lone Ranger was nothing more than a radio show. Now, 80 years later,  it’s a major motion picture. Check out the theatrical trailer for The Lone Ranger below.

Here’s the first trailer for The Lone Ranger.

To go with the new trailer, Disney has also released a very deep and cool poster. Check it out.

The Lone Ranger has gone through a lot of chaos to get to this point. Development began in 2002 with Columbia Pictures hoping to make the film with Classic Media. Eventually it fell into the hands of Jerry Bruckheimer and Gore was slated to direct over Mike Newell (Prince Of Persia). The film was again delayed due to budget concerns and the poor box office numbers from another western action flick, Cowboys and Aliens.

The Lone Ranger looks like a fun and exciting film with Verbinski’s signature written all over it. Armie Hammer is a very talented actor and should do great with portraying John Reid/Lone Ranger. And with Johnny Depp as Tonto, by far the most intriguing character, I don’t think there will be much to gripe about with this adaptation. Besides Hammer and Depp, the film stars William Fichtner, Tom Wilkinson, Barry Pepper and Helena Bonham Carter.

The Lone Ranger is currently set for a July 3rd, 2013 release date.
