The Twin Cities Film Festival Fires Back to Life for Eight Days

By

Last year I had the privilege of attending the Twin Cities Film Festival. I had a blast checking out many of the wonderful indie films that would never make it to my local theater. Considering that, any fan of indie films or alternative cinema should make sure to give the Twin Cities Film Festival a look over the next eight days.

The festival kicks off its third year tonight fittingly with three films and runs strong until next Saturday which concludes with Lumpy, a film shot entirely in Minnesota that stars Justin Long. The festival features comedies, dramas, documentaries, films for all palates. So instead of wasting money on Taken 2 or any other film you can see for the next month at your local theater, make the trek to St. Louis Park’s pristine ICON Theaters to support independent cinema and this festival. The theater isn’t only top class, it has a (pricey) bar upstairs.

I always love checking out movies that I know very little about, movies that have not been shoved down my throat through online banner ads, marketing deals with Burger King, and non-stop commercials. I love to sit down in a chair with the wonder of what this film will bring.

The Twin Cities Film Festival has a site that has a lineup of all the films, with trailers so you can find out what they are all about if you are curious. If you don’t go, you’ll be missing out. But if you don’t go, since I’ll be there, I’ll give you short reviews for the films you missed.

Will You Be Venturing To The Twin Cities Film Festival?
