First Trailer for Spielberg’s ‘Lincoln’ Drops
ByHere we go folks, the long-awaited trailer for Steven Spielberg’s biopic of Abraham Lincoln, aptly titled Lincoln, is upon us. Production stills and buzz have been relatively quiet for such a big Oscar production, but we now have our first glimpse of Daniel Day-Lewis in action as America’s 16th President. The story, as you would imagine, focuses on Lincoln’s history-changing accomplishment of abolishing slavery, and all the trials and tribulations that came with it. More after the break.
Obviously I’m excited for this film. Not only do we have the one and only Mr. Spielberg at the helm, and arguably the best actor alive leading the charge, but the supporting cast is just ridiculous, including; Tommy Lee Jones, Sally Field, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, James Spader, David Stratharin and John Hawkes. But, the tone of this trailer left me feeling underwhelmed. It comes off as an epic TV movie-of-the-week. It’s our first look. And it’s still towards the top of my must-see list of 2012. I’m just a little “meh” about the trailer itself. Check out the trailer for Lincoln below, which hits theaters November 16th.
