‘Paranormal Activity 4’ Previews More Scares and Hopefully the Completion of This Story
ByWhen I say hopefully Paranormal Activity 4 completes this story, I mostly say it because I hate seeing these damn movies. I don’t like being scared in the movie theater, call me a baby, and I hate the cheap jump scares these movies constantly are throwing at you. Don’t get me wrong, because I think these films have been well executed for the most part and have decent back stories, I just hate being on the edge of my seat. Hit the jump to see a trailer that may make you jump (see what I did there?).
Check it.
Again, more cheap thrills that has become so common in this franchise. I must say though, these films do an unreal job at building suspense. The ‘jump’ is the moment of fright, but the real terror comes from waiting for the door to slam or an ominous figure to emerge.
I also find it interesting to see the way this film has once again integrated a new ‘found footage’ type of experience with the video chat taking place on the computer — this is another good idea to bring the audience into the environment with the young female character in the trailer. Who knows where the story is going to go, because the trailer doesn’t really tell — but it does lead in nicely teasing at the idea that this “final” chapter will wrap the series up (though I doubt it considering these films are CASH COWS).
Paranormal Activity 4 ‘jumps’ into theaters October 19th, 2012.
