Hugh Jackman Looking Happy As Ever On ‘The Wolverine’ Set
ByI don’t know of a film that has gone through more extra curricular drama than The Wolverine. Christopher McQuarri wrote the script for the film back in 2009. In early 2010, Jackman stated the film would start shooting sometime in 2011 at the People’s Choice Awards. Sources revealed that Darren Aronofsky was suppose to direct the sequel after Bryan Singer turned down the offer. Darren eventually backed out as well. After all that, The Wolverine is finally in production. James Mangold (3:10 To Yuma) is helming the long awaited project, and we have a few photos of Hugh on location, beard and all. Check out the pics below.
For your viewing pleasure.
It’s great to see Hugh back in action as Wolverine and to see that this film is finally getting off the ground. Hugh spoke briefly about the shoot and where the crew is heading.
This is the second and final day of shooting on-site at Kurnell, production for the film will continue around Sydney and a few weeks in Japan before it wraps up mid-November.
Also just released is Jackman’s character in a more rugged form, almost unregonziable from the pictures above.
X-Men Origins: Wolverine was not all that great, mostly due to its sloppy storytelling and cliché action, but thankfully The Wolverine has an entirely different crew behind it. The film has been through a lot and it’s hard to imagine with all the drama behind the scenes that the movie ends up blowing people away. But being a fan of X-Men, I will hold out hope for The Wolverine.
It is currently set to slash theaters on July 26th, 2013.
