Daniel Day Lewis Looks Striking in First ‘Lincoln’ Photo

By

Lincoln is a film about our 16th President’s battle with other politicians to abolish slavery. It stars Daniel Day Lewis as the title character and that alone makes it worth watching. Lincoln is based off the book by Doris Goodwin called Team of Rivals: The Political Genius of Abraham Lincoln. Entertainment Weekly recently released the first official photo from Lincoln showing Day Lewis sitting in what looks to be a theater seat. A little foreshadowing… anyone? Check out the photo after the jump.

Here is Daniel Day Lewis in Lincoln.

Spielberg talked to EW about Lewis’s performance as Abraham Lincoln in his latest film.

Lincoln had a very, very complicated – and at the same time, extremely clear — inner life. He thought things out. He talked things out. He argued both sides of every issue. And he was very careful in making any decision. As a matter of fact, his opponents and his enemies criticized him often for being impossibly slow to a decision.

Lincoln is sort of a dream team kinda movie. It’s got one of the greatest directors of all-time in Steven Spielberg, one of the greatest actors of all-time with Daniel Day Lewis, and a supporting cast to die for, with Joseph Gordon Levitt, Sally Field, Tommy Lee Jones, Jared Harris, and David Strathairn. Anyone who pays attention to movies knows this film will be a sure fire Oscar contender when it hits theaters November 16th, 2012.
