Check This Out: ‘The Many Faces of Gary Oldman’

By

Gary Oldman is, in my opinion, one of the greatest actors of all time. He’s one of the few actors who can transform himself like a chameleon in every role, giving us truly mesmerizing performances. His most recent turn as calculating MI6 operative George Smiley in Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy earned him his first Oscar nomination of his career for Best Actor. “Well deserved” and  ”a long time coming” don’t do the man’s portfolio any sort of justice. Which is why I was delighted to stumble across this fantastic infographic that creatievly displays Gary’s many different faces from the wide variety of characters he’s played over the past 25 years. Check it out after the break.

See, what I’ve dubbed The Many Faces of Gary Oldman below:

While we’re on the subject, I wanted to quickly point out one of the lesser-known, unsung chamelon-like performances of Oldman’s career that’s a personal favorite of mine. It’s his turn as the vile gangster/pimp “Drexl Spivey” in 1993′s True Romance. If you showed the clip below to 10 people who haven’t seen the film, I bet 9 of them wouldn’t be able to tell that it’s Oldman. Truly amazing.

Check it out the clip, and good luck to Oldman at the Academy Awards in a couple weeks.
