Matt’s Review: ‘Cars 2′ is Fun — But is Definitely the Worst Pixar Movie to Date

GRADE: B-

It is a sad day in the movie world. Pixar has released its first lackluster effort ever with the sequel Cars 2. While I won’t go as far to say the movie was bad by any means, it is decidedly the worst film from the animation studio. While one may assume Cars 2 is terrible, that is far from the truth. The only reason this movie was such a disappointment is because of the stellar track record boasted by Pixar in all of their 11 previous films. Some have won Oscars, most have wowed audiences of all ages, and all have been critically acclaimed. Many felt Cars was the weakest of the bunch, but I really loved the car crazy movie starring Owen Wilson. Enough to deserve a sequel? Probably not — but haven’t you heard of merchandising?
