The release date of J.J. Abram and Steven Spielberg’s secretive alien invasion flick, Super 8, is fast approaching – and with it is coming a slew of clips from the film. A 2nd 35-second clip has made its way online to wet our appetites just a little bit more. It’s nothing too revealing; but it does feature the powerful strength on display of said extra terrestraial, as well as the onslaught of explosions and fireballs that will surely be peppered throughout the film. Really excited for this film. I mean, duh, it’s friggin Abrams and Spielberg. But as I’ve said many times over the years, I am a sucker for alien invasion flicks. I love ‘em. Yeah, they all contain similar plot elements, but it’s such engrossing, fascinating and exciting subject matter. I can’t resist. Check out the second clip for Super 8 below.

What’s also great, and different (at least for contemporary alien invasion films) is the 1970s setting. It’ll be cool to see the people of Earth try to survive alien wrath without the ability to use high-tech gadgets, computers and weaponry that we possess today.
