New ‘Dark of the Moon’ Trailer Full of Action, But Does This Film Have a Story?

As for the question posed in the headline, who knows? That is yet to be seen. We have seen the robot vendetta against Earth before due to the all-spark landing here. So what now? Why do the robots want to destroy Earth this time? If you can’t make the story interesting Michael Bay, you are just splicing action scenes together. I like the historical angle involving Apollo 11 and Neil Armstrong — consider that a good start. I won’t pretend for a second the action does not look pristine, but let’s hope it all has a purpose.

I’ll quit rambling, as I am indeed looking forward to this July 7th. All I am going to say, is that if this movie isn’t a better effort than Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 is going to steal a lot of money from this film at the box office. A gigantic opening weekend will be necessary for this film to break the bank, because no one beats Harry at the box office, and the Potter finale drops the following weekend. All seven previous Potter films have been magical at the box office and all are in the top 30 grossing movies of all-time — four of those are in the top 12.
