Amy Adams Will Be Lois Lane in Zack Snyder’s ‘Superman’
ByThe role of Lois Lane in the Superman reboot has been rumored about for months now. So many moderately talented actresses like Kristin Stewart and Olivia Wilde have been thrown into the mix to play the role. Thankfully, director Zack Snyder has settled on Amy Adams, an actress who is not only beautiful, but immensely talented. Kate Bosworth, who played Lois Lane in the 2006 Superman Returns, can’t hold a candle to the talents of Adams. Consider the three-time Oscar nominated actress an upgrade. She is the perfect choice for the strong-willed and sassy Lois Lane.
The LA Times broke that Adams was informed of her casting by phone from Snyder himself. Adams has proven her versatility as an actress by playing a variety of roles throughout her career. She proved she can play a singing ditzy princess in Enchanted, she proved she can carry a character-driven film as a single mother in one of my personal favorites, Sunshine Cleaning, and proved she can even play a Boston accented hard ass in The Fighter. Adams is one of my favorite stars today because I love gorgeous red heads and I love talented actresses.
Adams has the strong personality to play the prying journalist Lois Lane. The 36 year-old actress will obviously need a change in hair color so she can match the dark locks of Superman’s main squeeze. Adams will play alongside Henry Cavill who was cast as Superman and Diane Lane and Kevin Costner who were cast as Martha and Jonathan Kent. Color me pink, this part could not have been filled by a more deserving actress. It will be great to see what Adams can do in her first big-time blockbuster.
