‘Star Wars Episode III’ Ripped Apart
ByIn the past, I have posted links to Red Letter Media’s breakdowns of the Star Wars prequels. The glaring failures in the films pointed out in these videos are absolutely invigorating. Granted, the crazy character bringing forth the analysis in these videos is more than just a little crazy, but his breakdown of the three prequels is spot on. The reviews break down all the flaws in the newest Star Wars films and why they don’t even begin to compare to the originals. Even if you think you loved or liked the prequels, after seeing these videos, I guarantee your perception will be altered. Hit the jump to check out the breakdown of Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith.
As I said above, Red Letter Media broke down Phantom Menace and Attack of the Clones in 2010. Before seeing the reviews, I felt both movies were decent, but not as good as the originals. But then, Red Letter Media pointed out the huge holes in both films making George Lucas look like one of the worst screenwriters of all-time. Lucas seriously lost his way with the prequels. I was literally shocked at how much I overlooked in logic, plot, and character flaws in these two movies. It’s almost as if I was blinded by the Star Wars name.
The brilliant analysis is presented from a character named Mr. Plinkett. Whether that is his real name or not is really undefined. Red Letter Media presents the videos with some unique and often times disturbing story lines interjected like Plinkett murdering whores. While this attempt at amusement sometimes falls flat, this style fits with this guy’s type of humor. But if you can look past the excessive vulgarity and some really disgusting references, you can see the beauty in the ripping apart of these three below par Star Wars movies.
The reviews are lengthy, over an hour each, but are definitely worth your time; they will change your whole perspective on the Star Wars prequels. If you haven’t seen the bludgeoning of the first two prequels from Red Letter Media, I recommend you watch those first before jumping into this Episode III breakdown. This will help you get a feel for the style of the reviews and see how this guy works.
You can see the breakdown of Phantom Menace here and Attack of the Clones here.
Without further ado, here is the long awaited Revenge of the Sith breakdown.
