Matt’s Review: ‘Due Date’ is a Disappointment

GRADE: C-

Due Date is not a movie I eagerly anticipated. For some reason the commercials did not impress me or cause me to laugh at all; I kept hoping the funny nuggets laid within the completed picture. Seems strange having doubts beforehand with the likes of Robert Downey Jr., Zach Galifianakis, and director Todd Phillips (The Hangover, Old School) heading the project. Maybe being enticed by the star power initially but then let down by the movie is one of the reasons I disliked Due Date so much. It just did not have the laughs one would expect and is not worth your dollar(s) at the movie theater this weekend. Hit the jump to see another Movie Mash video review from yours truly.

I know many of you are excited for Due Date, but I can only promise a let down. I am sure some will enjoy the film, but loving it would be a stretch for any movie goer. Even if you like Due Date after seeing it, there is no denying this movie was no where near as good as it could have been.
