‘Dark of the Moon’ Logo Revealed

By

Transformers: Dark of the Moon now has an official logo to go along with the title of the movie. A week ago, a low resolution screen shot of the logo was flashed in an ET behind the scenes set visit (which you can watch after the jump). But now fans can behold the new logo in crystal clear – ah – HD(?). Well, it might not be HD, but it is a high resolution pic for your eyes to behold, and I think the logo is pretty sweet. The moon is cut into the title letters of the movie which I think gives the third movie logo a leg up on the first two films’ presentation.

Shia LaBeouf claims the third installment is the best Transformers yet. That is a hard act to follow considering that Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen was one of the greatest movies ever made… ahhhhhahh I got ya. Of course I am kidding. The movie was four explosions away from an actual world war. There was so much crap in Revenge of the Fallen it was hard to stomach 150 minutes of it (see my full review here).

Transformers however, was actually a solid, and decently written, action flick that I could not help but to savor. Seeing the robots battling it out for the first time blew my mind. The second time around Michael Bay and Co. thought they could just throw that same formula at audiences (times fifty) thinking we would all be enthralled to watch even more robot confrontations with the addition of some new hoodlum robots on the cusp of retardation thrown into the mix.

Ok, enough, I am sure you get that I didn’t think too highly of Revenge of the Fallen. The first time I saw it I will admit to liking it. The film was enjoyable one time through. But I watched some of it on TV the other day and thought to myself, “This movie is so glamorized and full of BS in every regard, it isn’t even worth a second viewing.” So I changed the channel.

This post acts as my confessional booth to admit I have only seen Revenge of the Fallen all the way through once. Transformers I have seen many times, because it actually has replay value. Revenge of the Fallen does not; mostly because the movie is so effin’ long and full of action it could desensitize even the biggest adrenaline junkies with the non-stop EXPLOSIONS. Anyway, let’s hope Dark of the Moon is more like Transformers and less like Revenge of the Fallen.

Below I embedded the set visit from ET which is kind of interesting, but is mostly crap. If you have six minutes to kill, enjoy watching Michael Bay blow more things apart, or consider yourself a huge Transformers fan, check it out.

Transformers: Dark of the Moon hits theaters July 1, 2011.
