Olivia Wilde Joins Ryan Reynolds and Jason Bateman in ‘The Change Up’…Oh, and She’s Also an Angel

By

Look out for this young lady, as she is about to blow up all over your face in the next couple years. Deadline is reporting today (via Collider) that the gorgeous and talented Olivia Wilde has accepted the lead female role in The Change Up, alongside Ryan Reyonlds and Jason Bateman. In the film, a married man (Bateman) switches bodies with his “slacker bestfriend” (Reynolds) and hilarity ensues, of course. Wilde will be playing Bateman’s co-worker, who apparently has a pivitol role in the body-switching incident. At first glance you might want to dismiss this project with a “seriously? Another one of these?” reactions, but once you see the creative peeps behind the project, I think you’ll be on board.

The script for The Change Up was written by Jon Lucas and Scott Moore  (The Hangover) and directed by David Dobkin (Wedding Crashers). That’s a pretty awesome combo of R-rated blockbuster comedy pedigree. Then throw in the acting talent involved, this is a sure fire hit.

But back to Wilde. This young lady just keeps piling up the projects on her already busy plate.  She’s obviously still playing Dr. Reme Hadley on the medical drama series, House. This December she’s going to blow our minds in 3D with Tron Legacy. She just wrapped up filming on the comedy Butter, with Hugh Jackman and Jennifer Garner. And currently, she’s on location filming Jon Favreau’s post-Iron Man 2 project, Cowboys and Aliens. AND, she’s only 26 years-old. What a great thing to see, isn’t it? A stunningly-beautiful, Maxim Hot 100-winning, talented actress, who has her head on straight and chooses making movies over being apart of the bullshit TMZ-Perez Hilton party scene. There is hope.

I follow Oliva on Twitter, and she just seems like the sweetest girl in the world who feels unbelievably lucky and grateful to be able to do what she loves for a living. She’s already locked in a fan for life here, I just hope her great life and career choices continue. The Change Up is set to begin production this fall, with a release sometime in 2011.
