‘Inception: Lego-style’

By

As Inception continues it’s phenomenal box-office run and impact on popular culture, fans of Christopher Nolan’s mind-bender are paying homage to the film through various forms of artistic expression. I’m sure many of you have scene Lego re-creations of movies or TV shows in the past, but I’ll bet you’ve never seen one that features zero-gravity. Wired received emails from a couple Inception fans who were so blown away by the film, that they re-created the famous zero-gravity/hallway fight scenes, that will surely become an iconic moment in cinema history, with Legos. Check out Inception: Lego-style after the break.

The first Lego Inception scene was created by Flickr user Lain Heath (Ochre Jelly), featuring the moment when Joseph Gordon Levitt’s Arthur enters the hotel room in Dream Level 2, to find his team member’s sleeping, floating bodies. Then, Flickr user Alex Eylar (Profound Whatever), took it a step further and re-created that iconic hallway fight scene. But lets first start off by showing a couple Lego-ized Inception production stills that we posted a while back featuring JGL:

Now to the fight scenes. Eylar revealed his trick on how he made those Legos float:

“To suspend the figures, I made the Arthur figure hold onto a lamp with one hand and the second figure with the other hand,” Eylar explains. “I shot it from an angle that hid those connections so it looks like they’re in mid-air.”
