New “Full-Length” Trailer for Ryan Reynolds’ Buried

Back in April, Lionsgate released the teaser trailer for Buried, the upcoming Ryan Reynold one-man thriller which entirely consists of Reynolds inside a coffin. The teaser, as you would expect, showed absolutely no footage, only audio, and was just over one minute long. Today, Yahoo! has the exclusive look at the  “full-length” trailer for Buried; I have “full-length” in quotations because the runtime for the trailer is just 1:23. That’s not a bad thing, as this movie surely hinges on secrecey, but just something to be noted. It’s a cool first peep, making me all the more excited for this film.

As this concept is extemely risky (I’m sure a lot of movie goers will roll their eyes upon hearing the premise), the trailer features positive quotes from critics who have already seen the movie, i.e. “A crazy-good thriller” – USA Today. A smart, strategic move from the studio to get positive word of mouth spreading far in advance.

The official plot synopsis for Buried goes something like this:

Paul Conroy is not ready to die. But when he wakes up 6 feet underground with no idea of who put him there or why, life for the truck driver and family man instantly becomes a hellish struggle for survival. Buried with only a cell phone and a lighter, his contact with the outside world and ability to piece together clues that could help him discover his location are maddeningly limited. Poor reception, a rapidly draining battery, and a dwindling oxygen supply become his worst enemies in a tightly confined race against time- fighting panic, despair and delirium, Paul has only 90 minutes to be rescued before his worst nightmare comes true.

The film is directed by Spanish director Rodigo Cortes and is written by Chris Sparling. Buried will be released in select theaters on September 24th, 2010 and will expand nationwide on October 8th, 2010.
