Teaser Trailer for David Fincher’s The Social Network

By

Last week we posted the first official poster for David Fincher’s The Social Network. As predicted, the first teaser trailer for the film was released soon after and is now online. The film is, of course, a semi-biopic of Mark Zuckerberg, the founder of Facebook, and his rise from a lowly Harvard freshman, to one of the most powerful people on the planet. The story of the film is based on the book The Accidental Billionaires by Ben Mezrich. Check out the teaser trailer after the break.

As the purpose of a “teaser trailer” is to “tease” and tickle the audience’s interest about a film long before its release, not showing footage and providing mainly audio is standard practice. But I’m not sure how I feel about this teaser trailer. As I just said, it shows NO footage, just audio of the actors in the film (Jesse Eisenberg, Justin Timberlake and the always lovely Rashida Jones), with a barrage of title cards such as “Genius,” “Traitor,” “Prophet” and “Billionaire,” displaying the many things Zuckerberg has been labled during the rise of his Facebook empire. It’s, okay. I’m still VERY excited about this film. Not only becuase I’m a Facebook junkie, but also because Zuckerberg’s tale is a truly fascinating one. The Social Network is set to be released on October 1st. Check out the teaser trailer below.

Yeah this just in. To thwart and challenge the dominance of this film, Paramount is making the Tom movie, based off the life of Myspace's founder. Look it up under, “The Pedophiles' Eden”
