Movie Preview Critic Inception

We haven’t had any Inception news in the past several weeks worthy of mentioning. I then stumbled on this fantastic video from MovieMoron.com’s The Movie Preview Critic (via NolanFans) that seriously breaks down and analyzes both the Inception trailer, and the film’s potential importance on the future of cinema. I was not aware of The MPC until I found this, and boy am I glad I did. If you have some time and you enjoy this video, check the slate of preview reviews on the Movie Preview Critic website. The dude really knows his stuff and all the videos are very entertaining, informative and thought-provoking. As most of you well know, I’ve been talking about the potential and importance of Inception for a long time now, and The MPC articulates it’s possible ground-breaking ideas and effect of movie studio executives perfectly.

The preview review discusses how Warner Bros. has written Christopher Nolan the infamous Carte Blanche check, which is basically a blank check giving him unlimited money and creative authority as a reward for giving the studio over $1 billion with The Dark Knight. The MPC goes on to elaborate on how important Inception is because complex, completely original ideas that is going to challenge movie goers for a summer blockbuster; unlike the barrage of remakes and sequels we’ve become accustomed to over the past several years. He goes on to declare that Inception is “THE most important film of 2010.” If it’s successful, it will save the lagging originality of Hollywood and push movie studios to write more Carte Blanche checks for future original ideas. It’s a FANTASTIC video, and if you’re ecstatic or even mildly interested about Inception, this is a MUST-SEE.

What Do You Think? Discuss.

Damn! This guy is good! I got to check out some of his other videos.

I agree with him, Inception is easily the most important film of 2010. If it's successful, then it'll prove that audiences want smart entertainment and original movies.
