New A-Team Trailer=”Meh”
By“Meh.” That’s what I said to myself after watching the first official trailer for the A-Team movie. The film is of course the big screen adaptation of the action-adventure TV series that ran for five seasons on NBC from 1983-1987. That series famously starred George Peppard, Dwight Shultz, Mr. T and Dirk Benedict as Four Vietnam vets who are framed for a crime they didn’t commit, are imprisoned, breakout and then help the innocent while on the run from the military. The first official trailer hit online a couple days ago and, as the title of this post suggests, looks pretty run-of-the-mill.
There seems to be some potentially good action, comedy and fun elements that would make the movie entertaining. The preview voice guy who narrates the beginning sets up a very cheesy vibe as the trailer progresses, which could have impacted my reaction. The film is directed by Joe Carnahan (Smokin’ Aces, Pride and Glory) and boasts an impressive cast including: District 9’s Sharlto Copley, Bradley Cooper, Liam Neeson, Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson, Patrick Wilson & Jessica Biel. I’m not quite at the point to predict that it’s going to be an epic fail by any means, I just am really not impressed by the first trailer, which you can see below. Maybe I’ll check out the show before I see the movie and I’ll be a little more excited about it.
