Oh what a glorious day this is. After French bootlegged versions of the trailer had been making the internet rounds last week, then were taken down by Warner Bros., the studio has rewarded our patience by debuting the second official teaser trailer for Christopher Nolan’s Inception in magnificent HD and more importantly, in English, via Apple Trailers. Now I’ve been talking about how insanely epic and badass this film will be over the last six months and this trailer has done nothing but confirm and exceeded that speculation.

For many of you who went to see Sherlock Holmes this weekend, you probably were caught off guard by this puzzling, yet thrilling 1 minute and 17 second teaser trailer. A lot more footage is shown, as well as it’s the first time that we get to hear characters speak, including Leonardo DiCaprio, Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Ellen Page. Batman Begins and Dark Knight composer Hans Zimmer teams up with Nolan again for Inception, providing a beautiful and exciting violin score for the trailer, equip with the apparent trademark thunderous booming sounds.

So, without further ado, check out the second amazing teaser trailer for Christopher Nolan’s Inception. Analysis to follow.

Several things strike me after watching this trailer many times now:

● Leo’s opening monologue talks about the magnitude of ideas and then says  “and that’s why I have to steal it.” This sort of confirms earlier reports from other blogs claiming that Leo is a CEO who has an injection technology that allows him to go into people’s dreams to extract information. How exactly and for what purpose remains a hazy mystery of awesomeness.

● The city (Paris) folding in on itself is one of the coolest pieces of film imagery I’ve seen. Never seen anything like it and it’s interesting that Nolan seems to be using a significant amount of CGI for this film; something that he usually tries to avoid.

● Joseph Gordon-Levitt (JGL) seems to have a very significant role. He is featured several times in this trailer, was featured in the gravity-defying hallway fight in the first trailer and is listed third in acting order on the poster credits. It will be interesting to see just how important his character is.

● It seems that water will ultimately play as a crucial element in the film as well. The glass of water tilting, the rain during the car chase, Leo being slow-motion dunked into a bathtub, the water spraying out of the ceiling at the very end and the first official poster featuring Leo standing in a flooded city. Not at all ready to attempt to connect any dots, just some intriguing bits for you to chew on.

● The very last voice over, which I think was Ellen Page, screaming “WAKE ME UP!! WAKE ME UP!!” gives me hardcore chills and goosebumps every time. So maybe while you’re “inside” or “under” or whatever, you can still communicate with people who are with your body?

I have no idea what the EFF is going on. All I know is that Christopher Nolan is one of the true artistic filmmakers who continues to wow audiences with his brilliant, original and challenging concepts. I just don’t know what I’m going to do for the next six months, as Inception opens in Imax and worldwide July 2010.

UNREAL…the trailer has everything it takes to be an EPIC flick… The CGI, soundtrack, actors and effects. Can't wait for number 2…

Aside from Leo “stealing this idea” and E.P “waking up” WHAT THE HELL IS THIS MOVIE GOING TO BE ABOUT!

I would pay $9 bucks to watch this trailer on the big screen…I cannot think of how to make the time between now and then go by faster. This movie looks…EPIC!
