Oh I know its coming Moosh... like I said, Hollywood will exploit the shit out of anything that can make them another penny. Wouldn't it be nuts if they started doing rom-coms in 3D? haha. Now that would be interesting...

A few months back John Shaw wrote an article here on the Movie Mash pertaining to this subject and whether or not 3D was here to stay. While I personally was skeptical, Shaw correctly predicted that 3D would be around and in theaters nation wide for awhile. Well the time has come. With the brilliant success of Avatar and it's use of 3D and Imax 35mm film we are going to see a large influx of studios and film makers, straight up HIJACKIN the 3D-bandwagon. Sorry Deery.

But is that really so bad? No pre-Avatar movie to date has come close to extracating the full potential of 3D and Imax film. I predict that this movie is going to set in motion a technological race in Hollywood comparable to the defunct "Star Wars" program initiated by the Regan administration in th early 80's. Film makers and studios will begin clamouring to push the bounds of 3D and Imax, even beyond the seemingly untraversable path blazed by Cameron and his team. Sure, we'll see a fair share of duds invading theaters, but it's up to audience members to determine whether or not a film can stand next to Avatar. I personally cannot wait for the next few years in film making. "GET SOME!"

Wow. If there is one movie I don't want to see in 3D it is Jackass. Making some of the stuff they do in 3D will probably make people gag more or actually puke in the theater. Like the stunt where they directly breathe the farts in through the tube...nasty.

As far as 3D goes, I really hope Hollywood doesn't think success equals 3D. I loved Avatar, every bit of it. But was the movie made great by 3D? No, it already was great but was made an event by 3D. Cameron already made an epic tale, but made it better with 3D. A shitty movie in 3D will still be shitty. But I seriously do not want to wear 3D glasses for every movie I see. And if I see a shity movie in 3D I will be pissed I wore those glasses for 2 hours and paid 3 extra bucks. The glasses are annoying and dim the screen, almost like a crappy pair of sunglasses. (I know they bring out the 3D, but the dimming effect sucks) Until they can find a more revolutionary way to present 3D I do not need to spend an extra 3 bucks to see it. The extra dough for the "technology" is really stupid too. I like the idea of only a few 3D experiences a year, but its Hollywood and they'll exploit the shit out of this.

i think it is kind of funny. the first movie i have saw in 3D since i was like 8, was Avatar. And this new 3D was not the cheesy fly coming at your face, it looked real and like you were there. I don't know if i want to feel like being inside steve o's ass, but it could be kinda funny. 3D is the future, i would love to see most movies in 3D.
