Inception’s First Official Poster Revealed Via WB Viral Website
By
Okay, so I know some of you are probably tired of hearing about Inception. Well…too effing bad! My most-anticipated movie of 2010 has received an inordinate amount of in-depth coverage on The Movie Mash and it is going to continue, so DEAL WITH IT! When Warner Bros. released the mind-blowing teaser trailer back in August, they simultaneously launched the film’s official website. On that site was the spinning silver top, featured at the beginning of the teaser. The only thing the site allowed you to do was to move your mouse around which controlled the direction of the spinning top. Over the past week, that top began to wobble. That’s right, WOBBLE! Oooooo.
Well after the brilliant online viral campaign that WB implemented for The Dark Knight in 2008, you can be sure they’re going the same route with Inception; so the wobbling is significant in terms of how they release photos, clips and posters about the film. Today that spinning top had completely stopped, and by clicking on the top it takes you to a new viral site: yourmindisthesceneofthecrime.com. This site prompts you to complete a “mind game,” which upon completion, reveals the films first official poster. Check out the poster below.

BAD. ASS. Right? As you can see, the poster features Leonardo DiCaprio standing in the streets of a major city surrounded by skyscrapers, completely flooded by water with a gun in hand. “WTF?” You’re probably asking? I agree. Notice that he is standing in this apparent wet devastation, but his Armani suit is completely untouched. I don’t know what the eff it means, but it does give us some perspective in to just how massive this movie is going to be.
Oh, and look out for the first full-length trailer for Inception to drop in front of Sherlock Holmes on Christmas day. As always, stay tuned to The Movie Mash for updates.
