I like your list here and I know its hard to narrow it down to only 10 with so many great comedies out there. I actually haven't seen Wet Hot American Summer, but I added it to the top of my Netflix Queue, but I have seen the rest of them and I like them all. I think my top 10 would like quite different from yours though and I'm curious to see what other people's list would look like.

Okay, you all need to calm down. Remember this is MY top 10 comedies. And I find it interesting that a lot of you feel like I automatically HAVE to include an Adam Sandler movie. I love Madison/Gilmore, but those are such a cliche picks. Have an open mind. And also, I had to narrow this down to 10 movies. Obviously I love hundreds of comedies, but I had to omit a lot of them. If this were my "Top 25" then obviously all of the movies many of you have mentioned would be included. Good debate though.

Here comes some debate.

Hmmm Wet Hot American Summer...gotta take it for what it is. It is funny, I will give you that. But number 2 of your all time comedies? I was smiling and enjoyed most of it, but I was definitely not ever laughing hysterically. Im gonna have to side with James up there and ask where Tommy Boy is? Tommy Boy isn't Top 10? Or even one Sandler flick?

And James good ups on Groundhog Day, hilarious flick.

What about Old School, or Wedding Crashers? Both of those movies are great stories with side splitting humor. I would even make a case for Superbad or Forgetting Sarah Marshall...I guess Wet Hot just wasn't my favorite. But I will admit watching the two kids who question Paul Rudd getting tossed out of a van in the middle of nowhere was hilarious.

It's tough to make a list, and it is ballsy of you to put Baseketball at number one, but I respect it because I laugh my ass off each and every time I watch it. You're mom IS SLEEPING WITH SQUEEK!! - If you guys call me little bitch 7 or 8 more times I'm outta here. Ok little bitch.

Baseketball at #1, and no Dumb and Dumber?

Clearly, there are just so many different tastes when it comes to comedies. Comedies are much more of a hit and miss than other genres. I liked your lists for other genres, like thrillers and what not, but can't say I agree with too much on this list. Then again, I have a distinct taste. I will admit, I do like the Naked Gun series, despite how bad they are. They always keep me entertained.

My top 10 would include movies like Groundhog Day, Dumb and Dumber, Stranger than Fiction, Ferris Bueller, Better Off Dead, and will happily admit to loving Happy Gilmore and Tommy Boy - they're classics! :)

Iamse7en, i completely agree with your statement...Comedy is the 1 category that is incapable of holstering a top 10 that is not up for debate. But, I do believe the Mash incorporated every Comedy genre into its Top Ten... Glad to see the diamond in the rough, Wet Hot American Summer, made the list. This is where i could go into endless quotes but i shall refrain...

Great list and may I suggest a TOP movie quotes article/video?
