Mel Gibson is Back and Badass As Ever in ‘Edge of Darkness’
By
Oh Mel Gibson. Why did you have to be a drunken idiot and make offensive comments? I know a lot of people still probably are not over Mel Gibson’s anti-semitic remarks he made about the Jewish faith several years ago, but after seeing the trailer for his new cop-revenge film, Edge of Darkness, I’m just so glad he’s back. I mean, the man is a brilliant director, writer and actor, and if the NFL can forgive Michael Vick, then movie-goers can give Mr. Gibson a second chance.
Edge of Darkness is directed by Martin Campbell (Casino Royale, The Green Lantern) and written by Oscar-winning screenwriter William Monahan (The Departed). The story is of homicide detective Thomas Craven, who investigates the death of his activist daughter, uncovering not only her secret life, but a corporate cover-up and government collusion that attracts an agent tasked with cleaning up the evidence.
I’m just going to say now that I am so excited for this movie. With the three-headed monster of Gibson, Campbell and Monahan, this film cannot miss. Gibson is back and badass as ever and I couldn’t be happier. He also has a very solid hard Boston accent, as the film takes place in Beantown. So without further ado, check out this awesome first trailer for Mel Gibson’s Edge of Darkness, opening everywhere January 29.
