Burton is packaging his regulars (See: Depp, Johnny; Carter, Helena Bonham) together to try and make this film seem like a good idea, when really it isn't. Seeing as Burton is a master at making his own fantasies seem like reality, it gets right under my skin that he can't manage to put the same golden touch onto other people's fantasies. He butchered Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and is likely going to do the same here. I understand that this film is purely $$$ to fund his next original project, but I still refuse to see it. Tron also is going to get my stamp of no appeal. Congrats to Disney for trying to broaden its reach by releasing a "darker" film, but it is still Disney. If a cult-classic like Tron is going to be modernized, I prefer that a studio with more of a pedigree for such production were involved like Paramount. But hey, J Depp, sells tickets and draws crowds. Playin it off like he'll be the main character will draw more people to come see the movie. But if they pull a fast one and make him minor, like the HATTER IS, then that would be sweet! Tron looks great too. I'll be honest, i've never seen the original Tron (on my to-do-list) but this movie looks very dark. The way he ices that guy at the end o the trailer...
