Trailer Trash: Final Destination 4…”The Final Destination”

Many of you might be rolling your eyes as you look at this picture and read this headline, but check yourself for one second. Are you cynical because it’s another Final Destination movie or because  it’s another sequel in general? If it’s the latter, then it is totally justifiable, but if you’re a true movie fan who enjoys horror, the Final Destination franchise is awesome. The scripts are simple, the story is simple and the characters are simple. In each installment, a new group of young hotties are trying to escape death’s plan. It’s the same plot every time, but with new kids. So why do they keep making them? Because regardless of our expectations and plain knowledge of what we know will happen (each teen/20-something will die in a horrifically gruesome accident), they are still really fun to watch, especially in a large group.

So as you can guess, the plot of this latest installment is like every other one. A young good-looking kid has a disturbing vision at the beginning of the film (this time at a NASCAR race) and his following freak out causes the inevitable accident to miss the half-dozen on-lookers who either did or did not voluntarily leave the scene. What’s going to be so awesome to see is the fact that this “Final” installment of this horror franchise will be shown in 3D. Now I know there’s a lot of justified cynicism when something is labeled 3D today and rightfully so (i.e. being gimmicky, distracting and a rip-off), but this one will be really fun. I had so much fun watching My Bloody Valentine 3D a few months ago in theaters. The body parts and the blood are flying at you and in this specific horror element, I believe, the 3D really enhances the fun aspect of your movie experience. There was one scene in MBV3D where the killer threw a coal-mining pick, it came flying out of the screen and I jumped out of my chair. I wasn’t scared, but it was just a cool rush to have this object come flying at you while you’re on the edge of your seat, anticipating murder.

The trailer for The Final Destination appeared online yesterday and it looks good. I’m really excited to see this in 3D. Mic check 1, 2 the trailer below.

Are you excited for another FD? Did you like the 3D aspect of My Bloody Valentine?

What Do You Think? Discuss.

Final Destination Five! Trip to the Big City! Anywho! This franchise will never die, cuz although there are an infintite number of ways to die and exploit those deaths, no one has come up with a way to kill FD.

I don't mind some of them…but it is just sad sometimes the situations those retards put themselves in with death breathing down their necks. and sometimes the deaths are too outrageous, i guess you just have to take it for what it is like you said, an opportunity to watch people die.Come to think of it…I am trying to think of my favorite death in the whole franchise…hmmm…I really like the decapitation from the elevator, or the nail gun death at the hardware store. Anyone else have a favorite?

I love the tanning bed, and the one when that chick got stabbed through the head by PBC piping, turning her into a human irrigation system. Moosh!
