First Day of Shooting on “Iron Man 2″ A Success, Favreau Tweets

By

I follow Jon Favreau on Twitter. For those of you too lazy to get with it and get on Twitter, you’ll have to figure out for yourself what it is. Anyway, don’t believe me? Check out his profile. TIME magazine-ranked movie blog Slash Film, has a confirmed LIST of  many directors, screenwriters, producers and actors on Twitter, who obviously tweet about their day. It’s really cool and interesting to see what these showbiz types do on a day-to-day basis. Favreau just wrapped up shooting his first day on Iron Man 2 and it looks to have gone well according to his tweets from yesterday. He said how excited he was to be back; how nervous he was to begin shooting, like it was the first day of school. Really genuine stuff that took me by surprise and made me view him as much more humble than I did before.

So nothing too epic to report. It’s just the first time that fans can get a minute-to-minute update of what’s happening on the set of a movie from the director himself, thanks to the technological advancement and societal integration of online social media in our lives.

Below are the first on-set pics of Robert Downey Jr. returning as Tony Stark, and newcomer, the amazing Don Cheadle, replacing the greedy Terrence Howard as Col. James ‘Rhodey’ Rhodes. Howard was being a Jay Cutler baby and wanted way too much money to return for the sequel. His loss and our gain right? I like Cheadle way more anyway. Check it out and get on Twitter for god sakes!

i don’t know enough about the comics to be able to decide who’s a better Rhodey but i do know that both doods are pretty good actors able to play alot o different roles. I really don’t see this hurting the film in anyway. “What! That one guy’s been replaced by this guy!… Watever…”

yea, it was more of an initial “huh, that kinda sucks that howard is gone…but we got don cheadle!”

[...] IF IT’S TRUE, it’s a dilly of a pickle for Favreau and Co. I wrote an article a couple months ago on how Jon Favreau was a Twitter fanatic and tweeted constantly from the set. I [...]
