Box-Office Benjamin$: Furious Cash

By

The fourth installment of the Fast and The Furious franchise, creatively titled Fast & Furious, destroyed its competition at the box-office this weekend with an impressive $72.5 million. It set a record for April openings. I’m seeing it tonight and I’ll have a review posted shortly after. Here’s a breakdown of the rest of the Top 5 at the box-office this weekend.

CHAMP: Fast & Furious $72.5 million
2) Monsters vs. Aliens $33.5 million
3) Haunting in Connecticut $9.6 million
4) Knowing $8.1 million
5) I Love You, Man $7.9 million

So I don’t know about Fast and the Furious. I mean when a franchise hits its forth movie it has either done something right or it just won’t give up. Something right (Lethal Weapon, Die Hard) yeah could be played out but something is right. Fast and the Furious is just not one of those films. I could be wrong but with the release of Tokyo Drift staring Pub.

Now I hope that I can be proved wrong and that it actually is good, and it is not just relying on non-stunt drivers making unbelievable moves while someone tries to kill them.

But yeah that is my first maosh on movie mash

looking forward to the review, as someone who was really into the original one and thought that it was actually a decent story, i was disappointed time and time again with the sequal and then the third. I commend them for getting the cast back together and trying to make it legit, but i can’t say that im very optimistic……hope to be proven wrong.
